What are the legal implications of watching movies on line? Say for instance from a site that has Lord of the Rings or similar movies. I don't intend to download but, landed on a site using StumbleUpon. Can I be sued for watching on line?

I want to make a health directive and/or living will should I become unable to make decisions. My family would make completely different choices and ignore my wishes except for one sister. I would list this sister as a person to make decisions, but what if we both were injured in a car accident and unable to make decisions? Is there a way to file a health directive that does not involve family members?

I've seen many people on here say it's ok to give up some freedom for safety, and many others say things like "if you have nothing to hide why do you care," or "It's not something that will probably ever affect you" To be honest, this attitude really bothers me, Many people fought hard and died for these freedoms, and how can we say we are willing to fight for freedom if we willingly trade them away for safety? The thing that made America so great was the freedoms we had, and even losing one of them, even if it never directly affects me, is not exceptable in my opinion. Where does it end, what if the only way to make 100% sure you were safe was to live in an internment camp, would anyone be willing to do that?

Can any one confirm the following:

HIPAA laws, when the original medical provider is paid in full, they must recall the account from the collectors and request that the collectors remove everything in their files and on your credit report concerning the account.

I would need the statue if possible. Any help would be great thanks.

I quit my job yesterday at a major auto dealer and come to find out today, one of the women who works in HR called ahead to some places that I may be applying and gave the person who accepts apps. my description and told them that I assaulted a customer (not true) and her which I wouldve loved to (but again not true). She purposefully called to prospective employers and blackballed me. What do I do?

Why is it that many people cliam that the Field of Law is oversaturated with attorneys while on the other hand, many other sources claim that the forecast is looking good. The statistics at almost all law schools show that the majority of their recent graduates had no problem finding a job after graduation. If the law field was in fact oversaturated, wouldn't it be more difficult for recent graduates to find a job. Thanks.

I think legalizing prostitution would hurt the organized crime syndicates that own most governments. Making it legal, regulating it, taxing it, would be of great benefit to the workers. Then police effort could be focused more on busting the pimps and sex slave owners. The workers (mostly female) would be able to work for a couple of years and then go to college to aim for a longer term career. I'd say the risk would be less than joining the army (where workers swear their life away to the military bureaucracy) or being under the thumb of some scummy crime lord who's only concern is power and money.
To the moralists out there; you're never going to stop it and keeping it illegal only helps the most despicable, rotten, slime infested, hell-bound maggots to continue increasing their strength, reaching high levels of power, and driving our society down the the bowels of the netherworld.

Can you guess which organization this is?

my husband recently received a letter from an employer that is written like this:complete papers are very important to readers and advertisers. So important that we can't trust you to leave the depot until you have assembled all of the papers that you are responsible for. There is more to this but this is just the small part of what it going on.

I have 2 stepchildren and my husband pays a lot of money to his ex-wife each month in child support. We have a baby on the way. It's my understanding that he can get his support reduced because he has to be able to support all 3 of his children equally. Is this true?

Also, do the courts ever take into consideration the mother's salary when determining child support? His ex-wife makes more money than both my husband and me combined. It seems unfair that he still has to pay her so much support considering this.

Thanks for any input!

There are only a few makers of ephedrine and it is too complex to bootleg so like quualudes meth addiction could be wiped out with the stroke of a pen. There are many ways to manage a cold that do not require ephedrine or its deriviatives...is this the true power of the drug lobby in action?

I rent a backhouse upstairs in San Bernardino, Ca and have lived here for 3yrs, even before the owners now, moved in here. Once I had my son I asked the owners for permission to put upstairs a small washer and dryer. Since we had no hookups they use regular 120volt electricity and connect to the kitchen sink. Recently though they started stating that too much water leaks and that septic system is getting to full too fast. Eventually they told me not to wash anymore. Is that legal?... they didn't say it was for a little while or anything... just not to wash anymore period. I have a 1yr old son and this is very inconvenient.

I have worked for six months with an organization providing services to a target population. I worked as a program analyst and was doing work to devise better means of implementing the program. In addition, I have experience in writing grants and personnel management, and wanted to try to expand the organization to a different service area, so I contacted the primary service delivery agent in that area to tell them that I was interested in going through the process of setting up the nonprofit. A few days later, I got a call asking if I gave out proprietary information (which I didn't, because everything I mentioned in the e-mail was all ready known to everyone of importance in that service area). Clearly, I said no, because I hadn't, but I was fired a few afterward because I had "lied" about it. I pointed out that there was no proprietary information in what I had released, and was slammed by the HR person because that was a "technicality". I screwed up, but what can I do?
