Law & Ethics - August 2007

My mom recently received a letter from a law office stating that my mom has an unpaid balance of close to five thousand dollars. It states she had opened an account for a chase bank mastercard back in the mid 90's.
We received a thorough credit report. And it states that she had never opened this account; she never had a mastercard; her credit is fine; and that there's no unpaid balance at this amount.
If we're taken to court, will this credit report be concrete proof of my mom's innocence?

Thank you

What rights are guaranteed by the government?(freedom of speech, right to private property etc.)

2007-08-03 04:59:38 · 3 answers · asked by cindy r 1

The Federal Government has taken the unprecedented step of offering support for an individual Regional Hospital in a critical marginal election.

We may not be as qualified as the Federal Treasurer, and his election campaign staff, but we can smell abuse of public funds as well as any reasonable man.

It would take $200 mil AUD to provide decent housing, a job, education and healthcare for every indigenous man, woman and child in the Northern Territory, and the top end of Australia. Yet the government has opted to spend $600 mil on providing a contract for solar hot water heaters to manufacturing companies so that our well-fed children have hot water to wash their hands with after a piss. And a further $600 mil will be spent rennovating the Sydney Opera House.

If that represents the epogy of Liberal Parth wisdom during a pre-election campaign, then perhaps it would be prudent to look for more down-to-earth leaders for our nation.

I just rented an apartment at my new house. I told the couple that I required a 1 year contract. I heard nothing from them until the day they were going to move in. That same day, I mentioned the contract but both of them were not present so I said i'd go back when they were both there. My husband and I went August 2, and they REFUSE to sign!!! I told them that if they dont sign it, they have to leave at the end of the month. What should I do??

Ihave a mentally disabled son who lives with his parents He cannot make decisions for himself He is 42 yrs of age and goes to Spindletop M. H. M.R.

I work in a school district that has an exclusive contract with a local private mental health provider. The contract allows this provider the ability to come onto any of the campuses in the school district to provide counseling and case management services to only the students who are already receiving services by the provider in the provider's clinic. Other students who are not already going to the clinic are not seen by the personnel of the provider at the school.

The problem is that there are two other mental health providers who see some of our students but they are not allowed to step into the schools during the school day, even with permission from a parent. Thus, the benefit of receiving counseling from their providers is denied by the contract.

Something about this doesn't seem right and I am hoping to find out a court case or legal statute that either supports this or doesn't. Thanks ahead of time.

Heres the short:

One married couple; father cited for domestic violence;twice

Mother has a separate house besides the house she's living in; she's a landlord. She bought the house when the two separated; but when they got back together, the house become "ours" instead of "hers".

Father as spent every drop of money on his failing business; has lost his proper licenses for the state of NV; had a lend put on the Mother's other house. So she's in the hole just has deep has him.

She wants to get a divorce, he saids he would sign it, but torn it half a refuses to.

As for kids....
15yo Female - wants to be with mom considering dad treats her bad also.

(2) 12yo (twins) - Male wants to go w/ mom; Female can't decide

5yo Male- Verbally saids he wants to go with mom.

How can she get full custody easily with his history?
How can she get her name out of HIS debt?
Bottom line; Wife wants out, without HIS name; with the kids, with support, HOW?

I cannot get anything out of the company and I feel I should have been back to work because i did not do what they had stated. is there anything I can do? sueing is out of the question cause they win all their cases. I feel i was wrongly suspended and cannot find work now. I am almost 50 yrs old. thanks for any input

I recently asked this question:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AhBOw5g3erFAHR.zLEFhl9_sy6IX?qid=20070731115900AAiqp2l

Only one person answered the question, the others were on a rant about taxes. Now, let's try this again. For those of you who are opposed to universal healthcare or universal insurance, who takes care of your elderly parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles. Do they have medicare? How is their insurance? Are any of them on a fixed income? Have any of them been denied medical procedures or medication that might make them more comfortable or prolong their lives?

A lot of the folks who lean to the conservative side ARE intelligent, please try to answer the question WITHOUT a rant on taxes? I'm not asking about increased taxes, I'm asking about the people in your life that you love.

No trolls please.

Has it ever been considered to put a limit on the amount of kids you can have on gov't assistance? Women wouldnt be popping out babies for a check and maybe theyd give a crap about the 2-3 they are allowed to have. Dont they have this in China? Not saying you cant have more than 3 kids, you just cant get more than 3 taken care of by the state under your care. Would this work?

what things do you do that are governed by a law. For instance if you ride in a car, note the laws which govern drivers’ licenses, traffic rules, car registration, etc. If you ride your bicycle, note laws which govern helmets, which side of the road you should ride on and so on.

My son who is going to college, has never recieved any child support during college from his father. Is ther an Illinois law that requires him to pay or give anything?

2007-08-03 00:43:24 · 7 answers · asked by chinesechickenbauk 1

My mom filed a court order a long time ago, probably sixteen years ago, and tried getting my father to pay child support a number of times, but she never saw a dime. He refused to pay and was sent to jail. When I was younger she’d always ask me if I wanted her to file a claim to put him in jail again. That was when we didn’t know where he was and he wouldn’t call, and I’d cry because I missed him. I never wanted her to, and she only wanted what was best for me, so she just gave up on trying to collect.

I used to see him every other weekend when I was younger, and I'd go to work with him sometimes and help out, a bit ironic. Ever since I’ve know he’s always been paid under-the-table to avoid paying child support, and any other trouble he may have gotten himself into.

He has two other daughters that he’s never paid a dime to, either. The last time I spoke to him, he was living in Florida, trying to run from the law. That was two years ago, but I’m pretty sure he still lives there, probably working illegally still. I am legally an adult; does my mom have a case?

I never did it and I do not plan doing it, but I am curious.. and wonder, if I sign a contract, like "I 'donate' my house to *insert name*", signed e.g. Scrooge Duck, could the person I donated the house to for fun sue me to give him the promised item?

I love picking locks using homemade ones. However i wanted to buy a real set. I want to buy it in Florida. I think it is legal as long as you don't use it on other people's lock, is it? I want to know if the airport will confiscate it for 'going equipped'. What i want to know:

1. Is it legal (Florida)
2. Will the airport confiscate it
3. What are objects that are made of metal and xrays wont go through them (just in case i want it to conceal my picks)

Why cant they make licences for picks?

We're the only industialized nation without universal healthcare, yet we are suppose to be the richest nation on earth? Other countries can afford health-care for their citizens, but we susposably cannot. Something sure isn't adding up with those claims. Either we are the richest nation on earth and can afford universal health-care or we do not have it due to too many insurance companies (and others) who fear they'd lose their big profits. Hmm...
