Has it ever been considered to put a limit on the amount of kids you can have on gov't assistance? Women wouldnt be popping out babies for a check and maybe theyd give a crap about the 2-3 they are allowed to have. Dont they have this in China? Not saying you cant have more than 3 kids, you just cant get more than 3 taken care of by the state under your care. Would this work?

ok i have something to say...lol. welfare is a controversial issue. my husband and i are seriously struggling financially. i lost my job and his hours got got at work. we have NO children. i applied for food stamps cause we seriously had no food at all in our house. I was denied!!!! they would not give me emergency food stamps cause i am in school. some girl at my school said that she gets food stamps [and she has a baby] but shes in school too.i dont think thats fair at all!!! I have friends who live on welfare, and i mean they live well. they buy houses with a welfare check and NEVER have to have a job. that upsets me. I dont want to be like that and thats why im in school, and i feel like welfare is messed up for denying help to people who are trying to get on their feet and really struggling just cause they dont have children. u would think that the fact that we have not had a baby is the responsible thing, right? does the government want people to have babies they cant take care of? I dont want to live on welfare, just want some help. WELFARE SUCKS!!! p.s. i was told i could not get medi CAL for the same reason...because i dont have children. I have chronic asthma and i cant afford my medication. can they do that? i live in California if that helps.

finally it may be the purchasers accountability due the mechanics of grant and insist. If the buyer demanded bigger welfare and boycotted meat that became no longer reared to this widespread then it might no longer be produced. despite if, that is very easy to make the the main suitable option decision re: ethically sourced meat once you have a small preserving in Dorset and your guy or woman television sequence. i wouldn't in any respect darken a food market's doors back i've got I lived such as you Hugh, why would i could? despite if, once you reside to tell the tale a council sources in between the main disadvantaged factors of the country and you are the only one working on your enjoyed ones as your companions lost his activity because of the recession, that could be slightly extra problematic to choose the £8 unfastened variety hen from the butchers over the £3 one from the food market. I do attempt to take the extreme street and circulate to my butcher and despite i purchase I in no way throw any of it away, that is all used in stews and soups and frozen if i will't think of what to do with it (even the bones for inventory) yet while i've got have been given £30 to stay to tell the tale a week and a wintry climate gas bill bobbing up it is not so decrease and dried as "Is animal welfare my accountability' and regrettably a £3 hen will feed us for 3-4 days comparable to an £8 one will.

There is a limitation on how long you can receive cash assistance. I think it is 5 years in a life time that you can receive cash. I am pretty sure that it was Bill Clinton that signed that bill. As far as food and medical assistance, I don't think there is a time limit on that. So if people are popping out extra kids for 5 years of cash then they seriously need some mental help lol.

Also it is not as easy to get cash assistance as it used to be, here in Iowa, in order to get welfare, you have to follow through with the program that makes you either become a full time student or get a full time job and they make you do that within a couple months, if you don't have a full time job you are required to do a job search and have to have the employers fill out a paper saying that you have applied for a job with them.

Many states do have women that sign up for welfare sign a document (at least they used to) if they have any more children after filing for welfare, that they will not receive any additional funds (but still entitled to Medicaid for the child).

At least up to 5 years ago, again, in most states, a woman that had children that were all over school age had to go into job training and try to get off welfare. The diligence of this depended on the diligence of the social worker assigned to them.

Sadly crack-h)s and any other substance abuser then files for SSI and SSD because they have a "disability" that prevents them from working...that is a huge problem and I personally feel any drug or alcohol addiction should be prohibited from receiving any type of public benefit.

Aaaaaaamen! Aaaaaamen ! AMEN!
I thought I was the only one that felt that way.
How did the welfare system and government spending become so confused. Now we need to stop payment for the addictions of others and give the money to those that actually need help. Have they stopped payments of SS to prisoners?
What has happened is no one wants the innocent (children of welfare) to be without. I say 1 child until school age! After that Mothers are on their own. Then find a good way to extract money from the sperm donor. I guess if all of that were to happen Maury Povich would have to find another job besides checking umteen men to find out "who's the baby daddy"

Can i just say something...........If you are going to claim state benafits, you should not have kids,It is differant if it is no fault of your own,but haveing kids just to claim benefits is well out of order.
If you have kids then you should have a job and that is the way every body should be .......If you want kids then yeah!! go ahead and just make sure you have ways to look after them, and not claim of the state because it is "US" The hard working ,tax paying, people of this country who have to look after these people who claim of the state..That is in England..

Now where else in the country i don't know how it works, about claiming of the state,But China does have a good answer to it all every couple is only allowed "1"child per family,That is what i have heard but don't quote me on that..

"THERE IS PLENTY OF CONTRACEPTION OUT THERE SO THERE IS NO EXCUSE"

We need welfare reform. It seems we give plenty to the people who just have babies for a check but the people who actually need help for a little while can't get the help they need. It's crazy! Whoever put unemployment in the same venue as welfare is an idiot too. I got laid off for three months from my job and got less than half what I made a week and I had to wait a week just to get that. I've got four kids, If my husband and I didn't work, they wouldn't give us enough of anything to survive, we'd have to move to the ghetto, but I've seen people at the store dressed really nice, driving really nice cars, eating better than we are and paying in food stamps. How do they do it? When I called to get my unemployment for the time I was going to be off, the first thing I heard was, "press one to continue in English". I waited and it automatically continued in Spanish. WTF! Our government is just srewed up in this country. I didn't know calling your state Department of Job and Family Services required you speak Spanish!

There are cap's on this system. If you have another child after being on Public Assistance you will not receive any more benefits for the new child.

People shouldn't be having anymore children since they cant even support the ones they have now.

Welfare was intended as a temporary answer to people having financial problems, not as the solution.

There's alot of things about welfare that need to be fixed. Like limitations on how long your can collect welfare. We have families that have been living on it for generations....that just doesn't seem right. It obviously hasn't helped them to become better, more productive citizens. It's just made them 100% reliant and dependant on the government...
