All written laws are in the form of enactments which take birth in the form of bills that are passed by the legislature & given assent by the President or the Governor of the State & then they becomes Acts. The Act is named & numbered on the top, followed by the preamble which defines its purpose followed by various parts or chapters, each part or chapter is further divided in the number of sections & sub-sections. Each section provides the relevance of the Act, meaning of various terms used in the Act, applicability of the Act, requirements, punishments, provisions of making rules etc. There are certain Acts which have various schedules provided at the bottom which further define the various requirements of the Act.
