A shipper asked a truck driver to deliver a shipment of chemicals and to protect them from freezing while en route. the driver assured the shipper that he chemicals would be carried in heated trucks. When the shipper learned that the shipment had been damaged in transit by freezing, she demanded payment from the trucking company.

Here are my questions...Did the truck driver have any authority to assure the shipper that the chemicals would be protected from freezing? Would the trucking company be responsible for the damaged chemicals? And lastly, Was the truck driver acting as an agent?

Thank you for the help.

crime. How is it that the person with a lawyer would get a less severe sentence than the one without a lawyer? It follows, that when a rich person can afford a good lawyer, then than person will get a lesser punishment than a poor person with a cheap lawyer.

I was just wondering why people think its ok for abortion to be legal because a woman "has rights over her body", but its illegal for someone to commit suicide?

i also find it very curious, that a woman was found guilty of homicide to ending her own pregnancy at about 26 weeks.

here in florida, if you open up a phonebook, abortion clinics offer abortions up to 27 weeks.

i am both pro choice and pro life, and i am not looking for "abortions are wrong" answers. i am looking for true, strong answers that clearly can justify this.

also, to make things clear, suicide IS illegal. if you attempt suicide, you will be arrested and taken to a mental hospital. it is in the same sense that if a woman goes crazy and kills her kids, she is arrested and taken to a mental hospital.

Not UNCOMMON...

A woman I know of has 3 kids. She filed in 2 different states for child support and lives in 1. She never closed the case in the 1st state and now both are after the dad. He (a friend of mine and his wife) has always been on time, but he can't get it off his credit report. He has tried everything but CS does not help men (they are really stupid & uneducated) and can't afford a lawyer who's not going to do the job.

She continues to make more money than him, she lied on the form, wants to get $ from his current wife, owns a home, a timeshare and travels all of the time. She leaves the kids at home every weekend and sleeps with/brings home married men, leaving the eldest in charge or sends them to friends/neighbors. She lied in court & said that she needed $ for babysitter and got it. She has made friends with some of his friends and lied to them.

How can he get a lawyer to help seek justice (jail?), stop her, & pay back the money she has gotten illegally?

I purchased a table on e-bay. It was defective. The seller and I mutual agreed to not go through with the sell. She gave me a full refund and was supposed to arrange for the table to be shipped back to her. 10 days later when I still had not been contacted by the seller or the shipper I contacted the seller again. She asked if I would allow her to resell the table and ship the table directly from my home to the new buyer. I agreed. The terms were a 3 day auction and the table would ship with a week.

The 3 day auction turned into a 6 day auction and 2 1/2 weeks after the auction has ended I still have the table. The buyer never paid. The seller has never contacted me and I'm sick and tired of having this huge box (6' x6') on my back porch.

I'm tired of waiting. The seller of the table knows it's here and has not done anything to remove it. When is it considered abandoned property so I can get rid of it?

with one of her son's classmates. Her son is now being treated for cancer and she is his caretaker. Her husband can not quit his job to be caretaker due to then their insurance would be lost. This is an upper middle class family. She has no other convictions. Would you sentence her to jail, probation and community service, or what? This scenario is going on in a Northern Kentucky suburb of Cincinnati. How would you feel if this was a family member of yours facing sentencing.? Judge threw out an earlier plea deal. How would you feel if your son was the victim of the sexual abuse and was still in the high school.?

i recently heard that the government will step in and recover some of the money you have put into your auto in case of re-po. don't know if this is true but really need an answer. my car was towed while i was in the hospital having total hip replacement surgery. couldn't work before surgery due to excruciating pain upon walking so couldn't pay for car. i called the place that repoed it and they will not tell me where it is. i have personal things in the car that i am sure i will never recover. i am 72 years of age and need a car to go to work as soon as i totally recover from my surgery. i hope someone out there knows something about the gov't helping me to recover some of the payments i had put in the auto.

I received a letter from a "family owned" business saying I was entitled to money as a former landowner. My home was sold in a sheriff's sale for delinquent property taxes. According to the letter I am entitled to money from the government under current law. I searched Indiana's unclaimed money and my name didn't come up. Is there such a law or is this a scam?

Who would have ever thought that cigarette smoking or sexual harrassment in offices would be banned? So why would it be unusual to contemplate a world where permission had to be sought before having your pic taken? If you were famous and needed the publicity, you could perhaps have a frame of reference outlining under which circumstances you would like your pic taken... At an outdoor cafe but not walking your baby, for example. With all these cameras on mobile phones, people are very vulnerable. What happened to privacy? I don't mean the cameras they have in the street to record bag snatching and stuff, I mean individuals on the street just snapping you, say eating a banana on a park bench.

Since the early eighties, I have claimed a piece of land 16x50ft. at the rear of my house.
I have a boundry fence, patio and mature trees and shrubs planted in it .
At no time did anyone inform me that I was tresspassing or even ask me to remove the plants etc.
Now I have been informed by the school who share a boundry with the property that they own it. They registerd the land in 1985.
Do I have any rights and if so what are they and what should I do?

Recently I was beaten & robbed for the 2nd time this year. They got $70 plus my Treo Phone. The phone was insured, but the money wasn't. Taxi ridership is down over 50%. Currently it takes 60+ hours to clear $300-$400/week after expenses. To top things off, a few days before, an unlicenced/uninsured drunk driver hit me causing $2600 in damage.

I got to thinking that the robbers just grabbed the first money they see and run. Perhaps what I need to do is create some fake money for the next time. I could print in small letters on the back that the money is fake, age it, than put it into a small money pouch in the side pocket of the door. The real money goes into a drop safe that I recently installed.

If I simply hide the money, they would continue to beat me until I said where it was, but with fake money, I would just point it out to them. Perhaps in the pouch I could also sprinkle a little iching powder. What do you think?
