Any damages he causes to your car would be denied by your insurance company. Any damages that occur to another vehicle would be denied as well.
If it was some sort of minor (with you driving) where there was an insurance claim, the person claimed straight property damage, medical bills or even "whiplash" that would be a huge problem in itself. But and least you could mount a defense and get it settled.
Even if you did not "let" him drive...... say he took your keys. Basically you would still be culpable as you did not secure your vehicle. The law looks at it as if you left a gun laying around. And you know that friend is going to say he had permission regardless. Every insurance company is going to go after you. Getting out of it is going to be super expensive for you. Now if you are in the car...... well all bets are off.
Once insurance companies get hold of this YOU are done. You can be charged criminally. Even if cleared criminally they can sue you in civil court. Think OJ Simpson.... he was cleared but had to pay millions in civil court.
If you let him drive you could wake up one day oweing a lawyer $10K. You might owe the other insurance company 50K. You are sued by a hospital because he did not pay his medical bills or even for the charge for an ambulance. You will pay in the end.

You would be screwed. Not only could your friend injure or kill himself and others, but you could also be legally liable in some way. If it was proved that you allowed him to use your car and you knew he had no license, then your insurance company will probably not pay for the car repair. I am not sure about personal liability involved. It would depend on injuries sustained by other people. In any case, it would become a legal nightmare for you.

Depends on state laws. Run a check on local laws or call your insurance agent (they love that kind of question) Sometimes what you insurance agent does to you is worse than what the law actually does but either way they will both cost you LOTS of money. Hope you have a big account before you hand over the keys. And hope they do not kill anyone because then your car's owner can run into another type of law suit.

You must press charges unless he pays to replace your car that he wrecked. If there wasn't a cop on the scene of the accident to write a T/A (traffic accident) report then you are reliable to pay for any repairs. Just the way the law works.

if you gave him the keys, you will be partially responsible, but if not, you can definitely have him put in jail. if he was a real friend, he would not have taken your car in the first place. try to offer hime some help, maybe AA classes or something, he could have killed someone driving drunk. that needs to stop!!!

Depends on your insurance. Most likely I'd say you are screwed. I had a coworker that was attempting to get her car fixed under the uninsured motorist clause due to the same reason. I haven't talked to here in months. Don't know if it worked.

He's going to jail
As for you, if you knew he didn't have a license and let him drive. You could be in trouble too.

You could be arrested for permitting unlicensed operation or you could to say that he took it without your authorization.
Civilly your insurance company could deny you your benefits, and all costs could fall on your shoulders.
One foolish mistake on your part.

He would go to jail and your car would get impounded, and cost you to get it out.
