My uncle bought some photos of a famous baseball player who has long since past away (baby pictures, baseball related pictures) at a state auction this past weekend. He plans to take them to be appraised and then to resell them and wants to know whether the copyright belongs to him since he paid for them. He doesn't want others to use the pictures for their own gain, I guess, while they're in his possession, or to put them up on the Internet.

Thanks!

I know what you are thinking ("no you shouldn't become a criminal") but the probablity of going to prison is actually very slim (only 50% of crimes are reported, only 50% of those do the police ever catch anybody, in only 30% of those cases is there enough evidence to go to court, and 95% of those cases are dealt with at the magistrates court (or US equivilent) which usually results in a small fine or being found not guilty) and those that do get caught are usually idiots, (i'm sure i could 'get away with it' unless i was caught red handed) and the crimes i am thinking of taking up are, burglery, fraud or drug dealing. i would like to be a nice criminal and not hurt anyone or only steal from those who deserve it, that way i could hopefully live with myself.

I got hit in the back by a 100 pound object from behind while at work. My dr. says no work for a week. Company dr. says lite-duty for a week. I can't work because the injury was serious. The company is trying to make me work while injured. They have workers comp, but dont want me to get it. So they sent a false report to the insurance co. Now they are trying to fire me. can they do that?

I sure do.
I think I've seen this happen twice, most recently in Pakistan.

Their anti-americanism is about as well-thought-out as their flag burning technique.

I thought of this while reading another topic about whether someone can legally burn the U.S. flag without penalty.

Yes, I will," she said, arguing that plenty of lobbyists represent good causes.

quote 2
In 90 seconds, I don't have the time to tell you all the mistakes I made."

isnt taking lobbyist money shorter than 90 seconds...and lets not forget...

I might be working for Sam's Club in Dallas, Texas really soon.
I am going in for an interview in about 2 days.
I recently took a hit of marijuana with my friends last night, and smoked a little about 11 days ago as well.

They are mandatory drug-testing.
If THC shows up on the test will I be arrested,
or just declined of the job?

Also, what can I do to clear up my system...fast!

I bought a car in name even though I do not drive and do not have a license. It is my daughter who has a license that time (last year). She was just 17 so the car was placed in my name and I have credit. So basically, do I own the car because in the contract my name is the only that's there. I have been arguing with my daughter about this because she says that this is her car also. She will 19 in Nov. I want to transfer it in her name she does not have enought credit and my credit score is low now. I cannot be approved.

If the crime took place in 1999 can I still bring up charges? I was 19 and in college then. I know it's been about eight years but it's taken this long to realize that it wasn't my fault. I realize I should have said something about it then and it's going to be very hard to prove now, but is it too late? Can anyone suggest a website that would be helpful?

I know who's calf it was, by the brand, and I know that he will not pick it up, doesn't care. The brand inspector says it's the highway department's responsibilty, the sherriff's say it the livestock inspector's responsibility, and the highway department says it's the sherriff's responsibility. I'm just a lowly taxpayer here with my own ranch and animals and I don't want to look out at a dead calf.

I say corporations, because I am noticing more and more hispanic sounding companies, ex: Veolia, La quinta.

I'm also noticing a huge amount of spanish language on products, commercials, etc.

I don't buy for one minute that these products target hispanic users. I see this as a sort of social engineering project to further open the borders.

I am currently an upcoming senior in college. When i was 16 years old i was arrested and convicted for being in a fight, it was self defense on my part however both parties of the alleged incident were convicted and we served 10 days community service.

I am very concerned about getting a job after graduation and if this will affect my marketability to a company. Most companies do not hire anyone with a criminal record at all.

Will this ever go off my record? It's been about 6 years i am in NY state? Is there any way to request this off my record? will it ever go off? I have not been in trouble since.

Next friday is the state inspection of the daycare I work at. We were informed by the director that it is a state law in Pennsylvania that we are not allowed to leave the building during inspection and if we do we immediatly get terminated. Is this really a state law. If so, does the place of employment have to provide a lounge or something for staff. The staff as of right now only has a small wicker couch in the lobby, that's it.
