Has anyone ever had a vehicle, that was legally authorized as handicapped towed because the vehicle was parked on private property and the handicapped parking space was intended for the use of residents only? A sign that says authorized vehicles only is misleading since a handicapped license gives authority to park in a handicapped parking space. I would like to know if this happens often. We can't tell people what to put on their own property, but the use of the handicapped insignia can be resticted to public use only. Perhaps private property should post their own signs. Therefore, when the universal insignia for handicapped parking is present, the handicapped person would know that they are not parking illegally. How do you think a situation like this could be improved?

Hundred years ago, if you were drunk, mouthed off to an LEO, and maybe threw a punch, you would get knocked over the head, tossed in jail overnight, and fined $20.

Do that today and it's a felony, you lose many rights, including forfeiting the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, and could spend many months in jail or prison.

And this is not the only example, there are Three Strikes laws and other crap like that.

Are we going overboard with our criminal punishments? Just had enough so it's "lock em up and throw away the key?"

Dear fellow Yahoo users:
A heated debate is going on about the quantum of Sanjay Dutts sentence. The Hindustan Times followed by the rest of the media contrasted the double standards of justice meted out in the blasts trials with the absence of any justice whatsoever in the riots cases. Please read the Express link below about the Memons as well as the DNA link about the political twist to Sanjay's case. Today's news has former Commissioner of Police MN Singh openly admitting that politicians prevented prosecution of Satpotdar & co. Another channel had Soli Sorabjee's considered legal opinion that Sanjay ought to have been given relief u/Probation of Offenders Act.
In the interests of justice, perhaps several of the blasts convicts should be given parity with Satpotdar & co. - and set free immediately. Please read the links and think about it. Thank you.

the nafta superhighway is all about putting longshoremen out of work unloading ships from China in a Mexico superport (walmart), and putting American truckers out of work. this is all part of the SPP North American Union, like the European Union.. joining of all countries and making everything the same, taking away the laws of the countries and replacing them with global region overseers and more taxation, less freedom and self governance. the whole scheme is treasonous to America, BUSH signed the US into the North American Union in march of 2005, and "grandstanding Amerca's mayor" giuliani is making big bank from part of what is about merging the US, Canada and Mexico.. destroying 3 nations soveriegnties and economies, and plans to "save us all" by introducing the "AMERO" (like the "EURO") dont beleive ME about all of this, look into it all for yourself. how can the people of this country be so unaware of the treason and what it means for us all?

Enron became corrupt with the money it made but its corruption was aided by the big financial institutions: Merril Lynch, trusted Arthur Anderson accounting and the Bush administration. The money was so plentiful nobdoy wanted to stop even though it obvious to anybody who looked Enron was going bankrupt.
The quest to find Osama Ben Laden may have been right, but it soon became corrupt and we were lied to and went into Iraq but not without the help of Congress, Republicans and Democrats and the media as well. Iraq became a "Thing" that nobody wants to stop even though rational thinking people can easily see the lies, oil contracts, bilions to Haliburton while our soldiers are dying. The adminstration continues lying about our "success" and the Democrats keep giving the president powers, the media mumbles that it stinks but still buys the White House propaganda and shovels it down America's throat
In the end it is the people who trusted, who loose.

I never took jail house confessions for real.

Like when a person in lock up 'confesses' to his cell mate that he did this crime or that crime' and they use it in court as a jail house confession. I do not think they should be able to.

Mostly I think guys in jail try to make themself look as bad and as evil as they can so people will leave them alone..

Am I right or should they be able to use jail house confessions.?

Ok, I won't give all the details, but here is sorta what happened, in a nutshell...

So tonight, I was at work and some work didn't get done. It wasn't work from my department, and it was work that the MANAGER didn't have other people do, when there were plenty of free people on the floor.

When the store closed, and it was past the time we were scheduled to, the MANAGER told us that we had to stay and do the work, and we weren't allowed to leave. He locked the doors and would not let us out. They even had security near the doors so we couldn't leave.
Many people BEGGED to leave, and had real reasons as to why they had to.

The majority of the workers are minors, as well.

We were compensated, but didn't have the choice to leave. We should have been able to leave after our scheduled time, right? Isn't that some sort of contract?

Does this break some sort of Labor Law... Is it false imprisonment?

Also, I work in a right to work state, if that makes a difference.

While I know that the letter is fake I am curious what the intent is. If I deposit the check in and it bounces it costs me like $25 for a bounced check, but it doesn't give the company any $. I have attached an exact copy of the letter, please review and let me know what you think. Thanks!
The internation lottery commission made a policy that every wining must be insured before delivery to avoid lost or false claim. Based on this, our company issued you an official check in the amount of $4670. to enable you to pay the insurance fee on this winning. Please note that our company has paid the tax associated with your winning and we will be sending out to you the Tax Clearance letter along with your 90K check. You have been assigned to one of our analysts with a # of 1-905-598-0653. He will process it. There is a security code attached and he will need it. There's some more stuff but thats most of it. Please let me know what you think. Thanks!

The legal age of majority in most states is 18, but in Mississippi it is 21. So, you can't get married until 21 without your parents' permission. (Actually they notify your parents and allow you to if your parents don't respond and say you can't after a certain amount of time.. but my parents would.)

Could someone that is 18, and a legal resident of Mississippi, be able to legally get married in another state? And if so, would it be recognized in the state of MS?
