I need an attorney to help me with a child support reduction, I have been to the FOC and even the lady at the building agreed my support amount is rediculous. I submitted a request for reduction, but was denied and informed I need to fill out a different form and request a hearing. The mother of my children and I have agreed on an amount but the FOC won't butt out!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The problem is they have taken so much I can't even afford to live, and I don't think it is fair my daughter (whom I have custody of) should suffer. I don't have much money so therefore I cannot afford an attorney and legal aid is talking like months til they could help me.

Go WITH YOUR EX WIFE to Civil Legal Aid of MI. There is a web page. You can also find a link on the MI Bar Association web page. It will take months ANYWAY, no matter what attorney you get. You are STUCK with the judgment until then.

Make an appointment together to go to FOC If your ex is in agreement and you can't get FOC to help, she can give the money back to you, unless of course she receives state aide, then your support is going to the welfare dept.
