he has claimed to have not had any involvement with?

Example: not allowing former White House Political Director Sara Taylor and former White House Council Harriet Meyers to testify on matters that Bush has claimed to not be involved with.

It comes off as he is either lying about his involvement or he is obstructing justice or both.

we wanted him to install Ikea cabinets, repair walls, paint, and lay tile. He didn't repair our walls. He put our cabinets and they weren't balanced. he couldn't figure out how to install the drawers and shelves in our ikea cabinets. my husband had to do that. he charged us for an electritian to install a ceiling fan that was never installed. tile was cut un-even and placed on the back splash un-even. we ask him to redo it. he refused. the drywall was is sagging and uneven. we did all the demolition work(tore down partitian walls, pulled up old flooring)we ask him to redo it he refused. he was to start on a friday and never showed untill the following sunday. he told us the work would be done when we came back from vacation which was 14 days. it was not done, infact he was just getting to the cabinets. we ask him if he could handle the project, he said yes but that was not the case. I had enough and told him he was fired. now he wants to take us to court for $2000. what should we do

I think this question is a no-brainer in this day and age. Don't officers (during a traffic stop for instance) have the right to ask you anything they might have suspicions about? If a officer smells (or thinks they smell) alcohol they can search my car, so, if an officer has suspicions about my citizenship shouldnt they be able to ask for proof? Why are people even arguing about this?

I am just wondering, because I have written some children's Christian songs that are to the tune of other songs.

I'd like to get them put into a book that could possibly get published.

Can you copyright lyrics you wrote that you put to the tune of other songs?

Thanks for the help!

My father is currently hospitalized due to a severe lung problem brought on by an improperly treated (due to the county healthcare system) chronic infection. He is 63 and does not yet qualify for medicare, so the hospital contacted me and set up an interview with SS Disability to apply on my father's behalf.

Despite the hospital's statement to the SS office that I would act on my father's behalf (since my father is still in ICU and unable to speak clearly), the SS office refused to take the application from me.

I was told I need "a document" that "authorizes you to act in your father's behalf". I repeatedly asked the SS rep what document, and she said that it just needed to authorize me to act on his behalf.

I'm not sure if just a simple signed statement in plain english would work, or if I need some specific legal form.

Does anyone know what I need for this?

I had a female roommate and my boyfriend would stay at my house all the time. The female roomate contacted someone who knows all of us mutually and told them that my boyfriend that he had been doing sexually explicit things to her over time. He continues to deny it and is emotionally upset about the accusations. The girl moved out of my apartment willingly last night (the same day she made the accusation) . What can my boyfriend do to protect himself legally, seeing that the situation is her word against his. There is no evidnce and her story doesn't match up because I was in my home when these things happened. Also she paid her rent at the beginning of the month, now she is demading to get it back. I told her that since she left voluntarily I am not legally obligated to give it back to her. What should we do? She plans on taking me to court and may press charges against my boyfriend. May I also include that this girl has lied before so that she could get what she wanted. Thanks

My elderly parents did a gift deed that stipulated a lifetime estate on their farmland. They did this so they would qualify for medicaid. Can a gift deed that was filed at the courthouse be rescinded or taken away if they change their mind? My mother passed away and I think my father wants to give it to his new wife. So, once the deed was filed at the courthouse it is a done deal and he can't reclaim it and give it away to someone else? They did a gift deed to me and now I think he wants to cancel it and give it to his new wife.

and many of the teachers here are outraged. What course of action could I take to see that these people (administrators) are held accountable for this. I know that it's illegal and it really goes against everything that I believe in. Just because they didn't do their job in getting kids to come to school, doesn't mean that they have the right to break the law so that they look good. The school district, which is in a major port city in South Carolina, probably turns their heads because they want to look good as well. What should I do? It's just not right! If there are any school lawyers out there that could help, that would be great.

I pressed charges on someone for harassment- today was the arraignment and he failed to show up. He lives in VA and the arraignment was in Ohio. He asked for continuance 2 times and the last one was denied. He failed to show today so they rescheduled for next Wed. They said if he fails to show again they'll put a warrant out for him. My question is this: If he doesn't show again and they put a warrant out for his arrest, will that warrant show up in VA (or any other state, for that matter)? Or is the warrant only going to be in Ohio?

With the rash of import recalls from China, I just wanted to see how long I could go without purchasing their products. So far, I have had to put three things back on the shelves at the store and decided I didn't need them. Not only have I saved money but I feel better about my carbon foot print for shopping for products from within my own country.

I work for a company who has a rotating Sunday shift from 12pm-7pm. At the end of the week this totals out to 38hours. If I was hired in fulltime, doesnt the company have to schedule me at least 40hours/week? Anyone who gets the Sunday shift automatically loses some hours for the week. The company says we can make up the lost time on our own. Basically i want to know if it is manditory for a company to schedule you 40hrs if they hire you fulltime.

My 15 yr old son and I just relocted to another State from Hawaii. 5 months now, and my son has managed to get arrested on 2 separate occassions for status offenses. One was for curfew violation and the other, possession of marijuana and a firearm. My son has never been in trouble and has friends that have snuck him out of the house to tag abondoned buildings in the most crime infested areas. Unfortunately, the Juvenile Justice System here has not been of the highest rating Nationwide. There have been reports of child neglect and abuse. As a mother, I know my child can use some behavior modification, but to be locked in a cage is not going to solve this problem. What can a mother suggest to the courts to ensure that her child will not become a menace to society without being locked behind bars?

I can't tell you how many times I've seen people railing against Christians who support the war in Iraq and the death penalty -- they say such Christians are the foulest of hypocrites and repeat the commandment "Thou shalt not kill." Don't these people realize the same God who prohibited murder also prescribed a penalty for those who broke that commandment?

"If a man taketh the life of another man, then by man shall his life be taken." Exodus 21:12, straight out of the Law of Moses

Isn't this a perfect example of the ignorant criticizing that which they don't understand (or don't care to)?
