A member of some old family "friends" keeps calling my mother whenever she is experiencing family problems. The woman blames my mother for various reasons and such. My mother has not done anything, and she becomes so emotionally distressed after the calls. My mother wants to change numbers, but I want her to file a restraining order. I don't believe this woman would physically harm my mother, but this harrassment is both annoying and emotionally grating for everyone. What should we do? Thanks.

My fella is a civil engineer, he always has been and probably always will. He is very good at his job and takes a lot of pride in the work that he does.

The other day a group of Polish men came onto his building site and offered his boss cheap labour. They said that they will give 1/3 of whatever they earn back to him if he will employ them. Thankfully my partners boss politely told them to "go away".
There are however a few Polish groups who have begun working on his site who tell him that they are happy working for a minimal wage. Although the majority speak little or no English which must be a H&S issue, in such a dangerous environment?

I am concerned that in time there will be no requirement to pay good wages to hard working British citizens when there are so many European "monkeys" flooding into this country who will do it for peanuts. I know this is old news to some people and the issue has been raised before but what are peoples opinions on this subject? Thanks xx

I was in wet seal and I heard the song "This ain't a scene, it's an arms race" Being played- unedited. Since I am a christian, I have a mega problem with the GD-word. I find it very offensive. This song has the GD-word in the chorus, therefore spouting profanity so loud it can be heard from across the mall. Not to mention there was a three year old running around inside. What if she repeated what she heard? I did stuff like that when I was little.
i almost said something but then chickened out. I was wondering, does anyone know of any state/country laws about profanity like that in public? It seems stupid, but I would like to know.

Australians have got it right!

Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on
Wednesday to get out of Australia, as the government targeted
radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.

A day after a group of mainstream Muslim leaders pledged loyalty
to
Australia and her Queen at a special meeting with Prime Minister
John Howard, he and his Ministers made it clear that extremists
would
face a crackdown.

Treasurer Peter Costello, seen as heir apparent to Howard, hinted
that some radical clerics could be asked to leave the country if
they
did not accept that Australia was a secular state, and its laws
were
made by parliament. "If those are not your values, if you want a
country which has Sharia law or a theocratic state, then Australia
is
not
for you", he said on national television.

"I'd be saying to clerics who are teaching that there are two laws
governing people in Australia: one the Australian law and another
the Islamic law, that is false. If you can't agree with
parliamentary
law, independent courts, democracy, and would prefer Sharia law
and have
the opportunity to go to another country, which practices it,
perhaps,
then, that's a better option", Costello said.
asked whether he meant radical clerics would be forced to leave,
he
said those with dual citizenship could possibly be asked to move
to the other country. Education Minister Brendan Nelson later told
reporters that Muslims who did not want to accept local values
should
"clear off." >>Basically people who don't want to be Australians,
and
who don't want to live by Australian values and understand them,
well
then, they can basically clear off", he said.
Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by
saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques
Quote: "IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave
It.
I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending
some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on
Bali,
we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of
Australians."
"However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the
'politically
correct' crowd began complaining about the possibility that our
patriotism
was offending others. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold
a
grudge
against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to
Australia."
"However, there are a few things that those who have recently come
to
our
country, and apparently some born here, need to understand." "This
idea
of
Australia being a multicultural community has served only to
dilute our
sovereignty and our national identity. As Australians, we have our
own
culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle."
"This
culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials
and
victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom"
We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese,
Japanese,
Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become
part of
our society, Learn the language!"
"Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian,
right
wing,
political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on
Christian
principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented.
It is
certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools.
If God
offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world
as
your new home, because God is part of our culture."
We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we
ask is
that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment
with
us."
"If the Southern Cross offends you, or you don't like " A Fair
Go", then
you should seriously consider a move to another part of this
planet. We
are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we
really
don't care how you did things where you came from. By all means,
keep
your culture, but do not force it on others.
"This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will
allow you
every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done
complaining,
whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian
beliefs,
or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one
other
great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'."
"If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come
here.
You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted."
Maybe if we circulate this amongst ourselves, British citizens
will find
the backbone to start speaking and voting the same truths!!

I know they go to the appeal with you but what will they do if they haven't even discussed witnesses, or documentation you may have.Maybe my attorney is just not doing any investagation into my medical charts, and he doesn't have good outcome with his clients. I ask his office legal assistent just what the protocol was, and all that but the answer I got was"we would wait for the appeals office to set up an appointment and the lawyer would contact me, and talk to me before we appear in court that day. ?? I'm thinking even a genius needs some time to prepare.
Anybody been through the final appeal,attorney/good or bad, process recently?

I'm a 15 year old teen male in seond life and have had a few occasions of having sex with my girlfriend who is the same age. We are both adults well over the age of 18 in real life.

Is this wrong when under our laws of the US and Canada, the age of conscentual sex is 14 for both girls and boys. This is age appropriate sex, not ageplay where one avatar is much older than another and one of those being a child under 14.

Can corporate polices, those of Linden Labs, be made which contravene the law of the country where they exist in? Can teen sex in SL be legally banned?

I am at a loss with this question and it seems that the morality and community norms of life itself can be ignored on the interent in virtual worlds like these.

I would dare challenge Linden Labs in a Supreme Court trial to override the laws of the US or Canada or any other country with a Charter or Rights and Freedoms.

They seem to be treading on thin ground.

I herniated 2 discs in my back last August at work. I had surgery on 1 of the discs. Work Comp payed for everything and payed me while I was home. I went back to work, but with a permanent weight restriction and my back never felt great again. A few weeks ago I bent down to grab a cable at home and felt a pop, and have been in a lot of pain since. An MRI revealed that the other disc (which was not operated on) is worse now than before. Work comp is denying responsibility and won't pay for anything because I hurt myself at home. Thay say I have a bad back and it's not their problem. I say I wouldn't have a bad back if I never hurt it at work in the first place. I called a few lawyers and got mixed reactions. Anyone have a similar experiance? Any idea whether I have a case against work comp?

Our original bylaws indicated six individuals to become the member of the board of directors. Due to politics and limited knowledge of the people at the place of worship, they expanded to 26 people. Also, the head of the priests serve as the President or Chairperson of the board. I do appreciate any insight information or comments that you can make. I suggested to the group that we should stick with our original charters. (The group acted more like a gang, by bringing their peers to serve on the board and making decisions toward their own.) Thank you for your time.
