Probably not, however, 14 year olds do not belong in prison period. There is no excuse for that. You don't throw children in with adult prisoners!

I don't know what state you live in but I would try and get the laws changed. Let me guess..Texas!

14 year olds are not mini adults, and they are just a year or 2 out of concrete thinking. They can't even give consent to have sex, but we throw them in jail to be sodomized by other prisoners! That is a sham!

I am a strong believer in equal punishment, I believe if a minor commits a serious crime and is charged/convicted as an adult then they should be sentenced like one as well.
However that said, being a one time correctional officer I can say at least in Oregon, they will seperate minors from the general population.
Usually what happens is one of two things, in Oregon if a minor is sentenced as an adult he can (he/she is given the choice of juvenile or adult till age 21) stay in a juvenile facility till he turns 18 years old then he would get sent to state prison, however he would be considered under the juvenile corrections until age 21.
If the minor decides he wants to go straigt to prison, he would be segregated from the general population till he is 18 years of age.
I do believe minors should stay seperate from general pop till at least age 18.
The state I live in now, would send the minor to state prison but segregate till age 18 they are NOT given the option to go to juvenile facility.

Most likely. If he/she did a crime serious enough to get tried as an adult, then he/she will pay as an adult.

Absolutely not. All minors go to juvi prison first and are then transported to "regular" prison when they turn 18, some who when they hit 20 or 21.

I would think so. If they are separated from general population, wouldn't it be juvenile correctional facility?
I'm not sure but I would think they that would be with others.
