in china they used to kill those who attempted suicide
that was a long time a go though, i just thought i would add that little tidbit.

Yes. Suicide is illegal, just as an attempt is. It was outlawed only to protect anyone who would stop suicide and give them legal amnesty on that action. The courts will not put you in jail for attempting suicide, the closest thing a court might do is mandate counseling or therapy.

Well, if you ask that, then you are probably saying that the attempted suicide failed. Perhaps not being shot to death by the coppers, but committed yes. And if you had medical help, you should be financially liable for any and all costs, no way should insurance have to pay for that, no way!

Your very morbid question, and my concerns for your wellness aside, most states do not have a law banning attempted suicide.

no, it is not a crime to try and commit suicide, but if you try and fail, the authorities will put you into a state mental institution for evaluation.

technically yes which is why if you are caugght and stopped b4 completion the government has the right to stick you in mental hospital and keep you there pending investigation
