A prisoner chapel is used every Sunday for Christian services. A small group of prisoners reserve the chapel for each Tuesday evening where they meet to study an ancient religion from Asia that they claim to follow. For two years, they sue the chapel every Tuesday to meditate and discuss books about their religion, and they do not cause any trouble. Then, one year Christmas falls on a Wednesday, and the Asian religion group is told that they cannot have their meeting because the chapel is needed for a Christian Christmas eve service. Tehy file a lawsuit claiming that their rights are being violated becuase they cannot use the chapel on Christmas eve.

If I was hit at an intersection, totalled, and it wasn't found to be my fault doesn't the person who hit me owe me a car ?

My insurance says they'll only pay me the car's worth, $8,000 which doesn't even cover the loan I still owe

Can I sue him for what he owes me ?

First let me say that I'm not an Imus fan. However, Al Sharpton makes me laugh with his BS, Al is one of the biggest bigots in the country. I don't agree with what Imus said and I believe he used very poor judgement in opening his mouth in this case. However, it seems when it comes to the Sharpton, Jackson and so on that the first amendment only applies when they want it to. If Imus if fired or not should strictly be left up to his employer. Like any TV or radio program if you don't like what someone is saying then don't listen to them but don't try to do away with the first amendment because you don't like what they say. I believe we are treading on dangerous ground as a nation when we start trying to restrict freedom of speech because someone hurt our feelings. Grow up Al, get some thicker skin and stop being the idiot that you are! What are your thoughts? Should there be limitations on the first amendment?

My family and I are in midst of writing a Victim Impact Statement.

Is there an outline, a template--some guidance that we could utilize in creation of this statement(s)?

The pamphlet we received from the Victims Advocate doesn't give a limit of how many statements, all of us write a statement or have one statement for all of us? What is general 'rule' ?

do you agree when i say that no events are ever interconnected by tiny lil things.
example- a family spends 45$ for a kid to join a sport. he/she sucks at it, gets made fun of, and the kid takes the family's entire money supply to start a new life somewhere else. The family fall into debt, and become homeless. When one of the little girls grows up and leaves the impoverished home, she publishes her story into a book series. it becomes a bestseller, and one person reads it, gets inspired by the things in it, and copyrights the whole series onto her book report for school. She gets caught, and is sentenced to life in prison. The family is devestated by the injustice and hire a hitman. the hitman causes chaos, and then all the people escape jail. the little girl kills the president, and obama takes over. he tries to lossen the copyright laws, but gets blackmailed into allowing murder. then the whole nation of America is slaughtered by madmen. and all this started by the kid joining basebal

I have a car that is financed but it's tore up. I owe two more years on it. It will cost me two grand to get it fixed...it will also take me over a year to save up this money. I can't stand the fact I am paying a note on this car and not being able to drive it. My brother wants to take up payments on the vehicle. He can have the money to fix it in a couple months. Once paid for of course I would give him the title. Is it illegal to do this, if not do you think it's a good idea?? Any suggestions. Thanks.

I'm looking for exceptions that would allow anyone to use a handicapped spot. Can you use a handicapped spot for loading and unloading? Would loading/unloading be legal only if hazard lights are turned on? I once heard that if the parking lot is full, you can use a handicapped spot. Is any of that true???

i got pulled over in january for speeding (40 in a 25) and at the same time got a ticket for driving on a suspended liscence ( i forgot to pay speeding ticket from over the summer)....so now i have a court date (today) and my co-worker told me i should have gotten a lawyer...i didnt think i would need one bc it didnt seem so serious but she seems to think i could go to jail!!!!! the other thing is this....when the officer pulled me over he searched my car and found marijuana. however i was never "officially" charged with anything, they didnt arrest me, i never got anything in the mail saying i would be charged so i thought maybe they just let it slide...but now my co-worker said she thinks that will be the reason i go to jail today! im freaking out!!!

My husband got a felony misdomeanor(s/p) in 2004. He was driving on a school lawn at 1:00am (nobody was in danger) He was spinning broadies. Tore up the lawn a little..really it was not bad. We have pictures from a little while after and the grass had already grown back!! Anyways, he got 6yrs on probation, and close to $10,000 in fines and another $5,000 for court fees. Is there anything he can do to get this reduced.
He knows he made a mistake, but come on ..RAPISTS get less of a punishment then this.
He wasn't drinking, or on drugs.
Somone please help..is there really any point in trying to do anything about this, or should we just suck it up and pay that off for the rest of our damn lives!!?!?!
Only serious awnsers plz!!

My father sold me his house and retained a life estate, he then moved out of his own accord. Is the Life Estate still binding, does he still have legal right to the house, my name is on the deed. If he does, he is now 85 yrs old., how do I figure the amount to "buy him out" and get clear title to the home? There is other family involved and he is being "led". I do not want to harm him in any way but want to divorce from the family. Any help will be appreciated.

I recently got charged for some service and did not agree to anything but the person is saying that i did agree upon it. There was nothing in writing about ANY charges what so ever or any discussion about charges. My question is for a service I thought $500 and up needs to go down in writing (written contract) by law. Am i right?.

Thanks for your help!

The goverment bans drugs such as cocaine and marajuana, but not cigarettes!
I personally think cigarettes are far worse, knowing that they contain Rat poison and Tar!
What do you think of this matter?

buisness to say no to making a copy of a photo that is over 50 years old, because it looks like it could have been taken by a professional? Is there a fine? A friend of mine said there is no law that it is just " company's policy" not to copy. I disagree.

Our neighbors have parties every weekend, they are not terribly loud but they do use profane language just a few feet outside our daughter's window. I have asked them to either clean it up or take it inside but they have no respect for my desire to protect our child from their horrible language. What can I do and what laws are there to protect our child?

It's really not that harmful, it's less harmful then tobacco, and alcohol, and its not addictive. It also brings in so much crime, I think that it's ridculous that it's illegal, it seems that if you made it so companies could grow it pack it and sell it like cigerates or beer, and make laws on it saying you cant smoke and drive, you can be intoxicated in public, then it would cut down on crime, and death rates.
