The potential for stem cell research is bountiful. With the ability to differentiate into numerous cell lineages, stem cells offer hope for the treatment and diagnosis of many diseases but what are the issues (other than religious) against it?

I plan to custom make velcro window shades that will block the windows completely in the back and side windows since I may want to occasionally camp out in the van. Is it illegal to drive with them completely covered up? I can still see behind with the side mirrors. What about just the sides or just the back window? What about both? What about if the vehicle is parked and turned off? I may also install a curtain rod just behind the front seats to block the windshield and side windows in the front. Any suggestions welcome. I'm in Tennessee. Thanks.

I am a single mother to a 5 year old girl that sees her father (we are seperated, we were not married, but he lives nearby) occassionally on the weekends, he doesnt arrange times to come, doesnt call to talk to her often, calls unexpectedly expecting to to see her when other plans have already been made, doesnt provide financial support for her and doesent think that he is ever in the wrong even though it clearly upsets my daughter, I would like to know the process that I would have to go through if I wanted to gain outright custody of my daughter and if anyone has been through the same thing and what they did with regard to the law and custody. I am in the UK. All answers will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I bought a house in Ashtabula, Ohio I have lived there 8 yrs. The rental unit next door was once part of my property but was sold off seprately the same time. I never signed an easement for their electric lines and cable ect run over my property. 11ft. above my property. I have asked First Energy to move them and they have refused. I told them I signed no easement and that it was a danger to me and my family that they are so low to no avail. The pole leans and is getting worse. They drop alittle lower every year. My other neighbors lines also run over my property in the front and I cant plant any nice trees in front yard for fear of taking his out also.

There are many cases where innocent people are being arrested by the Police. Can the Police arrest anyone without any prima facie proof or evidence ? If not, whether such Police personnel can be sued for breaching human rights ?
Under what provision of law, the People's Representatives get immuned for many offences committed by them inside or outside the Parliament or Assembly Houses ? When People are bound by the laws then how their Representatives enjoy such immune ?
There are thousands of cases where people are being jailed without any trial being started, that is, without any proof that they are guilty. Then how People Representatives can occupy the Ministerial Chairs when they are charge sheeted for apparent commitment of offences ? When our PM says that until & unless one is proved guilty, he is NOT guilty. Then why should thousands of people rot in jail ? They should also be released - the logic also says so besides the law. Let the Lawyers'Forum think over this.

I have a civil suit in state court, the opposing side(Defendants)
has filed a motion to move the case to federal court. The other
sides main office is based in Florida, but it has local offices,
operations,managers,and a business agent,in the state I filed
suit in.I used to work for the(Defendant)and several other coworkers have suits pending against this same employer. My
lawyer says some of the charges are state and some are federal. What should he be doing at this point,to prevent my
case from being moved from state court to federal court?
He does not speak as confidently now as he did when the case was first filed. This employer has lost a prior case in state
court against another coworker.I am very concerned at this
point about my attorneys experience level. I can't have him
guessing about what to do.

First, I have to say I don't know ONE guy who hasn't really had to go outside. I was extremely intoxicated and took the time to climb behind this tall air conditioner thing in an alley where a member of the public could not possibly see me. I went in a very dark spot. Midstream, a cop pops up next to me, no flashlight. I follow him over to his car and get a $100 ticket. I am wondering if there is any way to fight this if I went to court? No smart alec answers needed, thanks.

Why can’t the water department take out the chlorine that they put in to kill bacterial mater before it gets to our drinking resources? After all chlorine is bad for us too and we pay for our water so we deserve fresh, uncontaminated, clean filtered water at the tap. Reservoirs can be built in many areas to collect more water but they never plan right to save water and money, they would rather raise the water bill and have floods all the time. They have billions for war, but what about our water resources? What about high insurance prices, government disaster relief money, and all the wasted time and money on fixing something they could end by just spending time making reservoirs and creating jobs building and maintaining these facilities? Not only would they save a lot of water but also the money they save could go to taking out the chemicals from our water before it comes into our pipes and into our glasses, showers, and foods. What about health problems caused by our drinking water?

Every body knows that young people have to pay more for insurance than anybody else. I am a 19 year old male, and my driving record is spotless.
Take this example. My father is 56, and he too has a clean driving record. Insurance for him on a 1999 mazda 626 is $114 a month. For me, its $266. Now why is that? If my driving record was bad, I would understand, but its not. My stepfather on the other hand, does not have a good driving record, he has several accidents and tickets, but the insurance on the same car for him is only $133 a month. People tell me: "Its just because your young and a guy" or they say "thats just the way it is". Now why is this just the way it is? For that matter, it could be sex discrimination as well. And just so you know, all these prices were pulled from www.progressivedirect.com. I think that we should be entitled to the same benifits as every one else. Of course, the type of coverage will affect the price, but we should have the same options.

I will explain the situation and then hopefully someone advices me as to the best course of action. I was at Monmouth mall in new jersey with my girlfriend. I went to Suncoast. I left the store through the mall and into Lord and Taylor. As I was walking I noticed a man behind me with something in his hand. I walked around then went to the lower level and he was still following me around. I walked outside even though it was not my exit. There as I walked through the parking lot a security guard car was there and he stopped and asked if everything was okay. I walked up to him and told him that the man was harrassing me. He told us to separate, so I went to the other side ofhis car. The man said I stole a DVD from suncoast, apparently that is what was in his hand. Needless to say I did not. None the less the cops came and I was booked at the precinct. I have court appearance this coming thursday. There was no camera in the store and the only ones in the mall show him with it
