i watch the show COPS and i wonder....when you see the handcuffs put on people and they are like bleeding or majorly sweating....do they sterilize them before using them on the next person??ewww..

since i have to handle them myself while taking them off of a person ,i spray ,mine with hospital strength disinfectant kills hiv supposedly

I never seemed to get around to sterilizing them. I had one pair for dirt bags and one pair for people who were cooperative.
I didn't do that intentionally. I just had better things to worry about.
P.S. I did rinse off bodily fluids and use hand sanitizer for the really nasty.

I never had, just washed the blood off occasionally but I retired before the AIDS epidemic. Today some precautions must be taken.

good question don't know i hope they do sterilize them if not a lot of people would have aids and other problems

well, if you don't commit a crime you wouldn't have to worry about it would you? I'm sure they are sterilized or something, the cops sure don't want anything!
