Everyone says a woman has a right to chose what she does with her own body - that's irrelevant to the abortion issue - we are not talking about the woman's body, we're talking about the life and "body" of the child. Where are the rights for these children - who will defend them when their own mother wants to harm them? Why is it so hard for people to understand how babies are made - there are very simple things you can avoid if you don't want to make a child. People need to grow up and take a little responsibility for their actions.

Ethics hasn't caught up with scientific technologies, it is not substantial even though in case you're speaking approximately non-compulsory abortion because of the fact of extreme beginning defects or extreme disabilities, saving infants born with extreme abnormalities that would bypass via extensive surgical technique, healthful people who have been stored from an twist of destiny just to be in a coma for 2 many years, people who have been positioned on a respirator and in no way won the means to respire on their very own lower back, people who're being stored "alive" with machines even however they haven't any recommendations function. in certainty that fifty or a hundred years in the past (no longer probably very some time past in any respect) - we does no longer have been waiting to "save" maximum of those human beings (nor would have we familiar approximately disabilities earlier a baby replaced into born). Now, we are able to "save" a lot of those circumstances. it rather is my dilemma (and that i speculate others, too). in case you do no longer do each thing medically accessible to maintain your self - are you committing suicide? in case you do each thing medically accessible to maintain yet another person - are you sentencing them to a painful adventure trapped of their physique and the discomfort is merely too lots? dwelling wills are spectacular because of the fact they provide some answer to the 2nd question, yet they nevertheless do no longer resolve the 1st. 50 Years in the past human beings did no longer have the alternative - and the quantity of what they'd medically do replaced into no longer as superb because it fairly is now. the international is complicated, make peace with your self and in case you think of you have perception artwork with a company you compromise with to instruct others - do no longer choose others, it does not exchange something.

Has been a heated debate since "Row vs. Wade"...good new is Sandra Day O'Connor was replaced with conservative judge Samuel Alito...I don't see the verdict being overturned, but could be amended.

Most people don't realize that a fetus can be viable (with medical assitance) to survive outside the womb as early at 22 1/2 weeks.

The constitution has nothing to do with it. As you must know, it is YOUR religious beliefs, not the constitution. If everyone in the country were Catholic, then abortion would be illegal. So, you say, well that's fine with you, because that is what you are. But, what if, for example the majority of people in the US were say, from India, and the majority of people said that the "new" legal religion is now Hinduism. You'd probably be the first in line to have a problem with that. Isn't it amazing how people who are in the majority think that whatever they do is right, but if they find that they are in the minority, their opinions change...Think about that, think about the fact that you live in a country, where you have a RIGHT to choose, and then decide, that if you can't live with that, you have the freedom to move to a country, denounce your US rights and join the country that believes that abortion should be illegal.

A sonogram will show a fetus sucking it's thumb, moving it's arms etc. If the baby's "mommy" decides to not let the baby continue to grow, I call that murder. If the fetus isn't alive, why is the medical community thinking of giving the fetus pain medication before they kill it?

Morality and religion have nothing to do with abortion - you will find very few people who think it's a wonderful thing and that everyone should do it.

What people who are pro-choice (and no this is not 'pro-abortion') are trying to say is that a woman has the right to make a medical decision with a qualified physician, not a qualified physician and a legislator. Her body, her choice - and that's where it ends - it's no one elses business.

That all goes back to whether or not the fetus is alive. In the case roe vs. wade under the warren e burger court they ruled that it is constitutional according to the 4th amendment, stating that we have the right to privacy in our home, and somehow our "home" became a woman's body. (I know, really far fetched, talk about judicial activism). In my opinion I think this is all just a bunch of libs legislating from the bench. I'm just waiting for a conservative court to overturn this whacko hearing... or for republicans 2 win back congress. I dont see us having a republican president anytime soon so we should prepare ourselves for commiville

The person above me is right (N.Cognito), allow me to elaborate...if we let the government interfere with our reproductive rights, how far away is forced sterilization or maybe even forced abortions. You may think it is a stretch, but laws are about precedents and this is an issue you really want to leave to the individual.

some people feel that if the baby isn't where they can see it, feel it, see it breathe and move around, it's not yet a baby and therefore can be gotten rid of. it's easier to deny it's existence while it's a teeny bunch of cells not fully formed.

if u think legal abortions are bad..... then just make it illegal--you will have many hundreds of truly tragic "back alley abortions"--which we had 30-50 yrs ago...... it has nothing to do with moral ........ its common sense to a much worse alternative......... its especially distasteful however when people are motivated out of fear... or are over-zealous religious fanatics...
