I live in NYC. I put the initial payment on an room today (around 3-4 pm) because I was expecting to move in by evening, but something happened and I notified the landlord asap (8pm) to cancel. He said he didn't have the time to go back to the apartment today so I have to hold on to the keys until tomorrow or later. The landlord told me that he has to deduct $100 of what I paid for his loss, but it has been barely 5 hours and he still had another room in the same house that's still waiting for a tenant. I think this is so unfair. Can somebody tell me if this is legal ASAP? and if not, please give me reference to the part of the NYC rent law that states this. Thanks!

your performing a surgery on a jehovah's witness woman ans refused blood tranfusion. you promise her that there will be no blood transfusion during the surgery. then came the surgery and the woman is in nedd of blood transfusion. you went on and administer blood transfusion and broke you promise. nobody knows what you did expect for you and the other "operation crew" at that time.
you saved the life of the woman but in means of law, are you required to tell her what you did knowing that she will be upset because she did REFUSED blood transfusion before the surgery?
regarding the law, are you allowed to not tell the person what went on during the surgery?
are you breaking some laws if you do something like that?i mean not tell the patient what happened.

What was your experience when applying? How many times did you apply? Were you excepted quickly or denied? I have been waiting a year (with a lawyer) and this is the third time I have applied.

I want to go and sit in some court rooms and hear some cases. I don't know which ones I can go into. I live in Virginia and know that if it is an open case it is open to the public but how can you tell/know if it is or not and if they change it to a closed case how will I know?

i had cts surgery and was on workmans comp for awhile. i have a very physically tough job. after surgery i returned and went through many painful months before it started coming back full blown. i opted for fmla leave for the anxiety depression it caused and didnt return by fmla deadline and was terminated recently. i am still very depressed and having panic and unable to work right now for both reasons. am i eligible for unemployment? if not what other options do i have? have been thinking about checking myself into mental health institute for right now and suing workmans comp for not being able to do my job anymore which was really good and can not do any job im qualified for. i was offered a 10 dollar an hour paycut on noghtshift. i would settle for unemployment to not have to go through the stress of the workmans comp battle as my mental state is bad shape right now. any advice as of what to do?

First, realize the government supposedly sees freedom as being of greater value than money evidenced by the fact that in civil court (where the money of the defendent is at issue) a lower standard of proof is required, namely preponderance of the evidence. While a higher standard of proof is required in criminal court (where the freedom of the defendant is at issue), that being beyond a reasonable doubt. However, district/count attorneys (prosecutors) are permitted to offer a defendant freedom in the form of a plea bargin (pleading guilty to a charge that involves taking a lesser amount of freedom) in exchange for testimony that will likely lead to the arrest of a bigger fish (e.g. a drug supplier). But prosecutors are not permiitted to offer defendents money in exchange for testimony, even though money is supposedly held in lesser regard than freedom. It seems the government manipulates the value of money and freedom to whatever suits their needs without regard to logic or ethics??

After being fired from mishandling funds, the company i worked for hired an independant autdit, and then filed claim with their insurance company. The insurance company send me registered letter asking me to call and discuss an accused $96000 discrepency of funds. I was given advice to not call and to wait to see the insurance company next move. I dont know what that will be or when that will be and it is making me sick. What is the best way to proceed. The audit was over 3 years and started because I admitted to using income and business checks to pay off old accounts receivable so i would not be in trouble adn get yelled at for not getting my job done. I also cashed three checks totaling under $2000 but I re deposited and returned that money. I know it was wrong, I lost my job of 15 years because of it. My life was feeling out of control for those 3 years. Marriage in trouble, mom living with me, brother always being a problem, was drinking, depressed. I did wrong. What do I do next?
