What was your experience when applying? How many times did you apply? Were you excepted quickly or denied? I have been waiting a year (with a lawyer) and this is the third time I have applied.

Applied to what? You need to provide more information. If you are retiring, and you are of retirement age, there is no issue. If you are not of retirement age, there is an issue.

If this is about something else, such as survivor benefits, disability, SSI, or other issue, you need to please state them specific issue and the other relevant data to support your position.

After your update, it sounds like you are attempting to apply for SSI or some form of disabilty. There are many reasons that you can be denied SSI, two of which are income and level of disability. If your records are not completely perfect, to include every application and doctor's statements, you can be turned down. I would recommend that you contact your local volunteer agency that assists disabled people or hire an attorney to help you get disability benefits.

My husband was initially denied so we found an attorney to appeal it. We were told it would be at least a year until we could get a court date. The court system is That backed up! I guess you just have to be wait it out. (I know it's easier said than done) Good luck to you.

I don't know what kind of a problem you have, because applying once is all you need.

That would depend on the reason that you are applying for social security benefits. Are you an immigrant wanting benefits? Are you disabled? Need more information please.
