I know I have already asked about capital punishment but heard today about the above and also the thought that life imprisonment should be 15 years maximum. I believe that this is ridiculous as that means that people can go out and commit murder (which affects the family of the murdered for the rest of their lives) and walk free after just a few years to possibly commit the same crime again. After all if a persons morales allow them to take a life in the first place they stand a good chance of doing it again. The only way to stop these people is to make sentences tougher not easier, in fact I believe that the best deterrent has got to be if you kill somebody then you lose your life as well. The idea should be to frighten people so they are in fear for their lives not just think they are to be locked up for a few years and then come out again. This would then hopefully teach them to have more value on the life they are about to take.

My best friend needed to change jobs, to make more money, to cover the cost of living and to pay our bills. She gave a 4 day notice, and offered to help find someone new. She owes her ex-emplyr money, that we agreed to pay back, in virble terms. Her employer became angry, gave Her lower paying loads, would not talk to her. We still insist on paying our debt. But we also need her pay check to keep the bills paid. It has been a week and we still have no paycheck. The notice couldn't be any longer because the other job started so soon. Can someone help?

The KKK can go anywhere and preach ' White Supremacy ' because it is protected by the 1st amendment. Its just words. But if you were to go around calling for a violent overthrow of the government you would be thrown in jail. Its just words.

I got into an argument with someone at work. The next thing I know she yells out in front of our coworkers that I ratted her out to the Union. She is an appointed alt. safety rep. She believes I tried to tell on her to get her kicked out of her position. Here is what happened.
There was an incident with someone trying to carry a panel that was too big and heavy off of the production line by himself. She was standing next to him and didn't make a move to stop him or help him. She's new to the job, so I considered it ignorance of the job. I spoke with my committeeman and asked him if I should say anything and that if I did I only wanted it to be advice to her about the incident. I didn't want her to get into any trouble. I knew she was new to the job. We met with the President of our Union for a different reason the next day. At that time I wasn't going to say anything. I was brought up by the committeeman. I expressed I didn't want to get her in trouble only help her.

In view of longer sentences clogging up jails should we give murderers a choice of a shorter sentences and then a lethal injection. They could be asked at yearly intervals to make sure they hadn't changed their mind.

Justice Dept.: FBI Misused Patriot Act

The FBI improperly and, in some cases, illegally used the USA Patriot Act to secretly obtain personal information about people in the United States, a Justice Department audit concluded Friday.

And for three years the FBI has underreported to Congress how often it forced businesses to turn over the customer data, the audit found.

FBI agents sometimes demanded the data without proper authorization, according to the 126-page audit by Justice Department Inspector General Glenn A. Fine. At other times, the audit found, the FBI improperly obtained telephone records in non-emergency circumstances.

girls among others have a financial incentive to ignore the laws that were designed to protect children from sexual abuse ? There seems to be proof that 91% of these businesses don’t comply with child abuse reporting laws. On the contrary, do they actually help conceal child rape from the child’s parents (under assumed parental abuse) or law enforcement. Should they be exempt from reporting these cases ?

We live in a piece of **** house right. Well all of our windows leak really bad and the roof in the kitchen leaks. Our front door has gaps that you can see the light from outside when your inside and they keep on fixing the front door but they don't do it right. we have called and called about our windows and all the matnence guy says is they have to get a hold of the owner to see what he wants to do with the windows. Also our roof in the master bedroom is caving in. Can we sue them for not wanting to fix the windows. We can't have a dog (a black lab) either. The owner doesn't want to fix anything in this place. Is there a way we can win if we sue them? Please help! Oh and another thing is the outside of the house is all worped really really bad. when it gets warm I'm so afraid that there is going to be mold growing. I told the landlords about it and all they said was that if we are worried about it then we need to think about moving to a different location.

19 minuets ago the Associated Press released it's findings that the FBI criminally used the patriot act to obtain illegal infromation from business and phone companies regarding personal infromation on American Citizans. Hey, I am no fool, I am sure this has been hapening for decades, but now the truth is out. America is not a free country and today I find shame in my government. I am not ashamed to be an American or to be part of what our fore fathers wanted, I am ashamed for we have and are becoming.... Where and when will this end. I hate you george bush and dickless cheney you both have ruined everything this country ever stood for. Yesterday a young man from Germany told me I was lucky to be from America, today, he is wrong. We need to impeach this idiot now. He is a murdering criminal and by the way.... Just how many abortions did your right winged hero prevent? This may be a sader day the 9/11.

It seems that most supermarkets now require you to have their "bonus club" card in order to get the discounts in their weekly flyer. Since I shop about 5 different supermarkets, I have signed-up for all of their cards. However, sometimes I go to a supermarket whose card I don't have. Usually the cashier will scan his or her own card, if you ask. But recently I had a cashier refuse. He said his manager would not allow it. The manager refused to come over. Can they do this? Is it legal (in NY) to refuse to give a customer a sale price because they have not signed-up for your store's card? This seems like discrimination. What if I don't want to give out my personal information? Or what if I don't live near your store and don't plan on shopping there often? It just seems like poor customer service and that it should be illegal. Does anyone know for sure?

These people haved cussed at my son before, telling him to get the "f" off someone elses property. (he was retrieving his ball from their backyard and these people are only there like twice a year) Anyway, they called the police and said he ding-dong ditched their house, which he did, cop said it isn't a crime but it wastes their time to have to come out for such nonsense...which I agree with him fully and can't believe she didn't have the decency to come to me about my son ringing her doorbell or walking a few steps across her yard. So my question is, should I call the police station and report the fact that she came out cussing at my kid with a baseball bat? or is that just ridiculous and wasting more of their time? Also, these people have dogs that bark constantly. It drives me insane, but I have never called the police on them.
