Why doesn't the local news media jump all over what goes on there like they do in other states. I have been told by numberous professionals from other states that SC has always had this reputation. In this day and age, what could they possible have in place that protects them so well.

Because unless specific racial or gender discrimination can be proven, there's nothing to stop people from giving jobs and doing favors for friends.

In any industry, in any state or country, who you know opens many more doors that what you know. The "good ole boy" network is just another example of that.

Unless specific laws have been broken, it's just unfair -- but not illegal.
