Not suprising. You hand someone a club, tell them to hit anyone they want, and then act shocked when people end up with bumps and bruises.
Many departments of the federal government have pushed the boundaries of information gathering laws, and have occasionally broken the laws doing so. Gonzales has defended this exact practice before Congress and in the courts, and now claims to be shocked at what happened.

What do you thinks gonna happen? They will most likely get a raise and an extra vacation for their actions. Our government is filled with corruption. And they have the most benefits and power than any other job. Basically the fbi can do what ever they want and there isnt a damn thing that can be done about it.

Wow, couldn't see that one coming, we'll just let the government suspend our rights and they'll do the right thing.
DUH, They are as big a bunch of facist as ever existed.
Ask randy Weaver, Ask David Koresh, ask Arlen Specter they tried to get him. Ask me, someone in DC wanted my job so they dug into my background trying to get me fired, until I found out.
They are jack booted thugs. The FBI should be disarmed.

You can tell them - but they already know that. The GOP supported this bill because they had to. They are a party that walks in lock-step. Any dissent is considered traitorous to the party, and that's pretty much the end of your political career as a Republican.

Yes, it looks like the FBI exceeded its authority. Conservatives will just say it's all necessary to protect us from terrorism.

What I read is that the system is working. The DOJ is fixing the problems. The fact that someone abuses a law doesn't make the law abusive.
