I was recently contacted about a job in an Asian country. The company is an American company, but you have to work in the Asian country. The work calls for a 55 hour work week, but there is to be no time and a half or comp. time for the 15 hours that have to be worked. The company rep. said that the FLSA does not apply OCONUS (overseas). Is that true?

i turned down a gentleman after finding out he was married. suddenly i started getting calls to my cell calling me choice names from unknown men. one of them finally told me that my full name, picture and phone number was posted on craigslist.com as an online prostitute. when i contacted that website, they immediately took all that down, but now he has done this 3x. how do i get him to stop? do i need to file charges? or is there a way to do it...such as warn him without having to involve authorities. i know his first name, cell number and where he works.

serious replies only coz this is really getting to me. thank you

I'm trying to compare how if someone threw a dog into the washermachine they would get less jail terms then one who threw a baby in the washermachine.

Trust me i'm serious on this issue...and i'm not jokeing. I know it's sick and really sad but I need the truth.

I read a newspaper article about an accident. The firefighter/EMT was quoted giving injuries and details. I thought HIPAA would apply to them as well. Or does it....and how much info are they allowed to give out? I would want my privacy if it were me!

Logically speaking a criminal will find the means to carry out their acts unhindered by laws against them as their intent is to break the law.
If we banned guns tommorow then all of the good people become defenseless and utterly dependant to the cops.
Criminals will get guns either way.

I entered a plea of "nolo contendere" to truspassing on construcion site. The owner of site dropped charges but the state of Florida picked it up. I was sentenced to 2 years probation and 50 hours comunity service. On my court papers it states " It is ordered that adjusication of guilt be withheld". When I reported to the clerk of court she explained that once I completed probation and my service that I no longer had to register as a felon for the crime and I could continue my life with no problems. When I got to probation to register I was told differently. My question is when my probation is completed and everything is over do I have to fight to get my rights back or is everything going to be completed and I will no longer have to register as a Felon anywhere I go? Please advise. Thanks

I am only asking about women because I saw a video in my writing class about women in prison. They wrote about their experiences and their crimes. They all expressed a lot of self-reflection. I felt that I could identify in the sense that making one bad choice could effect the rest of your life. But most people don't commit murder, raper, assault, robbery etc.. as a way to deal with their problems. I felt sorry for them and then got angry because I don't think they deserve. They put themselves there and are trying to portray themselves as the victims. What do you think?

1. Stealing the White House in 2000 and 2004 through outright voter fraud.2. Lying to the American people and deliberately misleading Congress in order to launch an unprovoked war of aggression upon Iraq. 3. Authorizing and directing the torture of thousands of captives, leading to death, extreme pain, disfigurements, and psychological trauma. Hiding prisoners from the International Committee of the Red Cross by deliberately not recording them as detainees and conducting rendition of hundreds of prisoners to “black sites” known for their routine torture of prisoners. Indefinitely detaining people and suspending habeas corpus rights.

4. Ordering free fire zones and authorizing the use of anti-personnel weapons in dense urban settings in Iraq leading to the deaths of tens of thousands of civilians – war crimes under international law.

Before she became critically ill, my mother told me her wishes with respect to her estate. We hadn't had a will drawn up yet. She has deteriorated so rapidly in hospital that although she hears and understands questions, she can't really answer. Is there any way that I can still have a will done that honours her wishes?

Can anybody tell me if its legal to send somebody home from work if they are not wearing lip gloss? Thats what happened to me, and I think this is a very stupid reason, I am a good employee, never late or missing any work days. I do not understand why they didn't gave me a warning instead. I am so angry, because I was wearing lip gloss, it just wears off on me. What they did to me is not fair. Who is right on this?
