Yes, call the local police and they will tell you what it is where you live.

Yes there are laws about it, you can complain about the amaount and also you can complain about the time if the do it at night (but you must check the local police).

Also if you live at a rented duplex or a community with a "neighbor's asosiation" or something like that, both of you probably signed an agreement about what kind of things are forbident at those duplex, so check it.

Besides that my advise is to move if you can; living at a duplex or apartment is the worst thing of the world. Even if the law is on your side, neighbors will always find a way to make your life a living hell.

You should check with your local law enforcement division about the loud noise law or disturbances that are problems. I would talk to the neighbor about it first and see if this resolved the problem, and I would inform them of a time that it would not bother me and when it does, and if they do not agree or comply with a mutual agreement, then I would call the police everytime that they get loud, eventually they will get tired of the police coming, becuase after so many times, more than likely they will be carrying someone to jail for disturbing the peace.

It depends where you are. Some places have laws about the decibels. Other places the cops can go and ask them to turn it down, but that is about it. I would try to talk to them, ONCE. If they ignored me then I would resort to calling the cops. Maybe they could agree to keep it quieter from 8 to 8 or 9 to 9. But still you should be able to have a bit of peace and quiet when you are home. Possibly talk to the landlord. If he gets enough complaints, he may ask them to find another place. Giving them one face to face chance is a good idea. Just ask them nicely and tell them that you don't want to call the cops, but you are needing some quiet.

Call the police, file a noise complaint.

Or you could just fire 12-gauge 00 buckshot through the walls everytime they blast the stereo.

1st time - ask them to turn it down
2nd time - call the police and report it,
3rd time call police and get a written report and contact your landlord
4th time - break your lease and move out to a quiter place, by now the landlord and the police have given you all the necessary papr work and documentation to break your lease.

yes, ask them to turn it down. Then call the police and find out what the ordinance is. If they don't turn it down, have the police talk to them.

Doesn't it depend on what state you live in or something? Cuz where I live there is a law.
