I've just been to the corner shop and after buying a packet of cigs was told that they're going up another 10p next week!!! So my question is why are smokers being penalised?
I don't smoke in area's where I'm not supposed too like Pubs, restaurants, bars, buses ,trains or anywhere in public places!
After having a cig I don't feel the need to smack the living daylights out of the nearset person I don't like the look of!
I've never heard of Binge smoking!
It's much safer to drive a car after having a cig!
I don't act in a way that would be classed as idiotic causing grief and danger to others if I have a cig !
My partner doesn't have erection problems if he has a cig!
I don't attack police officers and end up in the nick over night after having a cig!
According to the UK government I would have to light 40 cigarettes in my mouth at once to equal the same carbon emissions from your average car!
Don't say health, I pay for my health care.

The Police, the CPS, the Judge, the Jury or some corrupt defence lawyers who criminally turn blind eye to key evidence? Someone should be consequently held responsible when an innocent person is wrongly convicted for a crime he did not commit.

Can anyone help me with this question please, the full question is: Do you consider that the imposition of strict liability in both criminal and civil law imposes too great a burden on companies and their management in relation to environmental protection?
I couldn't fit it all in the question box, thanks.

Who has the worst end on the music piracy issue? The recording artist who doesn't get the $15-20 as a result of making a lousy record with only a handful of good songs, or the consumer who gets conned out of his $15-20 for a lousy record with only a handful of good songs?

out with drugs, and forced to live out his entire
sentence that way---PLUS, he had to re-live the
crime in his mind for some 25 years.

Of course, this is fiction. My question is, would
it be legal and ethical to place a dangerous prisoner in a drug-induced coma for an unspecified amount of time, esp. if she or he had
a record of escapes, and assaulted folks every
single time?

ok father and I were together when I got preg...he was happy then,. but ended up getting someone else preg and leaving me at 7 months....So he knows I had his child...Now...if he took me to court to get visitations (my child is 8 and he never attempted to see him before) would that be child abandonment ? I want him to have his rights terminated but as of now he has none. He wasnt listed on the Birth certificate and would have to establish paternity of course but I do not want this man in my life!!! What are the chances the courts would allow him to do this after 8 years and child being raised by me and the man he knows as his dad?

I have had a drivers license for over 20 years but let it expire while I was in Europe.
Now they keep failing me for trivial reasons .
Do they tag you for any reason and decide not to give you a license at all?
What can we do about it?

Hey.

My (public) school has The Christian Science Monitor in our library. Since my school has to be neutral on, or fair to all, religions, should my school's library continue to carry the CSM? I know the newspaper's articles are not religiously written, but "a daily religious article has appeared in every issue of the Monitor".--Wikipedia.

Should my school leave this the way it is or 1) get rid of the paper or article or 2) subscribe to all religion's newspaper?

Note: This is about seperation of church and state and freedom of religion, not a bash on religion.

The text of the 1st amendment are as follows:

Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

So why is it that we can no longer pray in school, before games, display the ten commandments, sing Christmas songs, display the nativity scene, or anything else remotely related to Christianity without the ACLU and most Libs declaring us "unconstitutional?"

Aren't laws PROHIBITING our religious practices unconstitutional? It seems so to me, that is exactly what the 1st Amendment is supposed to be protecting us against!

When i was 5, i had one colleague in kindergarden who was living in my neighborhood. In his block lived a girl, and one day this girl call me and my colleague C. to the basement of their block. There she told us to kiss each other, then to remove our pants and touch our and each other's sexual organs, then she put us to lie on the ground, one on top of the other, and then to switch places.

Now i'm 16. I talked to my boyfriend about it, he's the first one i told about this, and he told me to do something about it. He thinks that girl should be in prison. I wonder, is there anything i could now, after 10-11 years? Like talking to a policeman or a lawyer? If anyone could tell me, thank you.

Long story short...

I knocked up my then current girlfriend in Germany. After a few months, and without the paternity being certain, she left Germany for her home in the mid-west. I never heard from her again.

Then two and a half years later, after I'm married with a child of my own, she contacts me by a court order for appearance in front of our lovely local child support courts.

I have never seen the child, met the child, and the mother will not contact me nor will she return any of my coorespondence. My hands are tied because the child lives in another time-zone, so even if the courts specifically stated visitation rights by all practicality visitations would be impossible.

I refuse to pay money for this excerise in illegal extortion. Is there anything I can do in retaliation?
