A young couple I know have been charged with robbery. Basically they stole food off a pizza delivery guy to the value of £30. The girl phoned the order and has been charged with robbery and conspiracy to rob. 3 guys did the robbery and only 1 guy has been caught and charged with robbery. We've now been notified that they could get 2 years imprisonment. Does anyone have any advice

All depend`s , any violence ? any assault ? any weapon`s used ? was the guy white or black ? could it be considered a racial attack ?
No violence = max imprisonment up to 5 year`s . more probable community service & or tagging !
assault = max imprisonment 7 year`s . most probable 2 year`s out in 12 month`s with tagging .
Weapon`s = max imprisonment 7 year`s - Life , most probable 3 year`s !
Racial attack = max prison upto 3 year`s
Conspiracy to rob =max 2 year`s in prison
all of the above are at the judge`s descretion !
i do know of a case where a person was robbed of a mobile phone and the robber recieved 2 year`s in prison !

Considering that the Pizza Delivery guy is probably also traumatized and his life has been upset I think 2 years is leinient.
These individuals are obviuosly either very stupid or very nasty either way the will deserve whart they get.
Get a solicitor and get a defence for them ( stupidity is not a defence) and the last bit of advice, get the guys who will be going to gaol to start doing Butt clenches............they are going to need that

In Norn Iron the maximum sentence is 10yrs... plenty of time to save up for their next pizza. 2 years is getting off lightly... ask the delivery guy's opinion!

Yeah, tell the bastards not to do it again! Why do you want to know them? Hopefully they will get 2 years. You should be concerned about the delivery guy.

Sounds about right to me.So what are they going to do next? Rape,Murder,Beat up an old lady.Get them the heck off the streets.

there is usually no prison sentence for robbery big bussines gets away with it every time
