Can both defendants use court appointed counicls?

neither of you can. the right to a court appointed attorney only pertains to criminal cases. in case of child support the county prosecutor will represent the custodial parent,only because the county makes money off of it. in custody or visitation you must get your own or represennt yourself. one party may be able to get a legal aid lawyer,but that is not a court appointed lawyer. legal aid can not represent both of you.

In most cases some type of council will be worked out. For an example, if the council is through Legal Aid Services, only one party could be represented by them. The court would then need to appoint an attorney from a " pool" of attorneys that have to give a certain amount of pro se work. (meaning volunteering free services)
