My child was sexually assaulted by his biological mother on several occasions. They had 3 different video taped out cries, a letter from the hospital social worker saying the child had internal injuries because as he said it "he wouldn't touch him self" so he was beaten, a letter from the COURT APPOINTED therapist stating abuse occurred, when it occurred and how it occurred, CPS findings of abuse but still a NO BILL. We want to fight it, can we or does it mean the double jeopardy law is in place? We live in TX and fear the only reason it was ruled as such was because it was the mother. If any of this evidence had been entered into for a man he would be serving 20 years right now!

Okay, I have a friend who is running a local business of making websites for local businesses. He's a damn good at what he does and I would like to help him as well. However, I have a few questions of my own regarding what he does. Is using pictures and graphics, from say google images, a copyright infringment? How does one know if a picture is copyright protected or not? Is there a place where you can find graphics and images that are in the free domain i.e. without copyrights? What are some tips to avoid legal trouble in the future? Are using tabs/button designs from other websites copyright infringment as well? These businesses are using it for advertising so making such a website is for profit...

I sued: 1) my former employer, 2) the state of new york and 3) individuals who were acting on behalf of the state. My employer said I had raised some Constitutional issues. My employer made a "notice of removal" and had the case moved from New York State Court to Federal Court (US District Court). I have multiple causes of action including a Section 1983 action, breach of contract, tortious interference and I am asking for specific performance of my contract. The 11th ammedment bars suits brought against the state or state actors in Federal Court, unless the state gives its consent. Therefore, my question is this, if one of the defendents (not the state defendents) makes a "notice of removal" into federal court, then have the state defendents also de facto agreed to having the case heard in federal court?

All my experiences with cannabis and alcohal have led me to believe that alcohol is worse. You can actually control yourself when you are high, when drunk you cannot. Should the U.S. legalize the sale and possession of marijuana for persons 18 and older?

I went to CVS over the holiday weekend, and there was a VERY long line at the pharmacy. There was a man looking very disgruntled in line. He had about 5 Hallmark cards in his hand. When he got up to the register, he got his prescription, paid for that, then hid the cards behind the bag and walked out...

How could he do that on Christmas... and stealing gifts no less? He was well dressed, not a bum by any means, in a nice town too...

After the botched execution in Florida, both California and Florida have a moratorium on lethal injections to perform executions. So, why not use a method that is quick and much less subject to human error? Thoughts?

My husband is in prison and we have been struggling with getting him his open heart surgery that he needs. The prison system has not taken him seriously and he will die if things do not start happening. He is in prison due to drug related issues as a teenager.

He has also been transferred from Medium to Maximum security because he was doing push ups. He was doing push ups because the cardiologist stated he needs some exercise without over-exerting himself. Over 3 hours later he was having chest pains. His chest pains are on going and documented by the prison.

The facility said that he caused his chest pains and is now responsible for the ambulance and hospital bill. We have been trying to get him surgery for over 2 years. Since June 2006 I have been in contact with the Civil Liberties Union, Commissioner’s office and Medical & Forensic office for the Dept of Corrections and nothing has been done.

Do you have any suggestions on what my next step should be?

I am divorced (10 years) and my ex's new wife and two of her adult friends created a fake My Space I.D. that says terrible things about me which I don't care but it has very bad things about my two daughters who are 17 and 15. They posted a family picture of the three of us. They are seeking out My Space members in our town and sending the link to them to see. Is there anything I can do to stop this and does My Space have to provide me with the information about the person who created the site and posted on it?

We rent a home in Idaho. The house has a garage apartment attached, which is rented as a separate unit. Since both residences are on the same meter, we, in the main house, are required to pay the utilities for both units. I just recently found out that this may not be legal. I know it's not in Kansas where we are from. Is it legal in Idaho?

Okay I had a question posted that I felt was erase arbitrarily, I wont go into what it was about but. Can you name one or more times when you saw a question on Yahoo Answers that was vulgar or offensive, promoted or condoned violence, or in some way otherwise violated the community guidlines? How do you feel this reflects on those lofty individuals who I could address with explative and demeaning names? Do you think their opinions are reflective of Yahoo Answers or Yahoo.com?

My mother-in-law thinks that I am trying to keep my daughter from her, which I am not I am a stay at home mom and she knows(my husband and I have told her many times) that she can come over to our house anytime she wants to. Last night she decided to go off on me about it and said that she would take me to court and get full custody of my daughter or at least have every weekend with her. Here is my question can she do that? She also has a record (1992-Battery(twice), 1992 Criminal Sex abuse(had sex with a 14yr olds) She was found guilty off all three charges. She used to be a daycare worker but after the criminal sex abuse charge she lost her license and can't work with kids at all anymore. So would the courts grant her custody or every weekend visitations? I don't like leaving my daughter alone with her.

With so much being said about sex offenders, do many of you know that:
If your in the woods and have to use the bathroom, and get caught, if convected, due to the fact of nudity outside of a structure, you will be on the list?
The majority of the lists people are teenagers who has sex with their girlfriends? (who DIDN'T try to get laid in highschool)
And, is it really fair that if a person is at a bar, where no one under 18 is even allowed in, and picks up someone, and they turn out to be under 18, goes to jail?
Is it fair that if a overage girl goes to a bar and gets drunk, and has sex, that she can say she didn't remember so it must have been rape?

The list was made over a sweet little girl being murdered, do we honor her now with all that is on it.

Girls (and guys) remember, if you go to a bar, no one makes you drink, so have somene there to watch over you if you are worried that YOU will be out of control. And if you don't, blame YOURSELF for it.

I was pulled over and the officer said I was doing 90 in a 65 dropping down into a 55 mph zone. He went back to his car for a good 20 minutes then comes back tells me to get out of the car and says he is arresting me for reckless driving. He then tells me I have to appear in court, yada yada, takes my picture with my vehicle and says if I don't appear he will come find me.

My question is does anyone have experience fighting a reckless driving charge, specifically in Connecticut, more specific in Meriden? Also, it seems that this is a charge most associated with DUI and I was not drinking and driving so I believe that all in all the officer was just being a jerk but how can I turn that into a viable argument.

Among the arguments I plan to pose are that the CT law says that speeding alone does not constitute reckless driving but that reckless driving involves wilfull and wanton behavior which is definied as posing a danger to anyone other than yourself.
