He is 9 years old and his parents gave him a bike so he has something to do. He got a new one on christmas (very nice). He rides all day and it is too loud. How do I get his dad to have him ride somewhere else... like out in the woods or something?

Have a talk with his dad !! If they aren't very good neighbors anyway, I would call the police department, and ask their advice .. There are laws regarding this very thing ..

Check with your town, city, or county to see if there is an ordinance prohibiting commercial vehicle from parking on your street, especially overnight. Since you talk about a ditch, you may not live in a city that has curbs, so you may be out of luck. There isn't much you can do about the cars. You might want to talk to your neighbor about your frustration in not being able to plant things next to the street, and see what they say.

You might start a war, but you have the right to peace and quiet, just cal the police and see what the law states for that particular motorcycle and if its street legal and his age could be a big factor. If its just a dirt bike and a license is required then it could be to your favor. Look into it

I'm assuming it isn't legal for a 9 year old to drive on a public street. Try calling your local police department to ask about the law, then you may want to knock on your neighbors door to ask them to stop. Of course, you may start a war with your neighbors. Good luck.

If you live in the city, call the police non-emergency number. If there is a law or ordinance against it they will help you. And I'm sure you can file a complaint with the city.
Always have proof of your complaints (pictures of child riding in front of your house, filed complaint with city or police to prove to police if it continues).
If you live out of the city limits I imagine all you can do is ask his parents to have him not to ride it in front of your house.

Give it a few weeks, and the kid will get sick of the motorcycle and move on to something else... or, place a bunch of nails on your side walk so that he gets a flat, and then keeps getting them after he gets his flat fixed.
Or, you can get a map of a near by trail or park, and give it to the kid, telling him that it would be the perfect place to ride, so that he could really experience his new motorcycle.... If it's warm enough where you live, turn on the sprinkler system, and see if the kid rides in that.

9 year old on a motorcycle on a public street? Call the police, pure and simple.

Tell you what?

Leave some nails with pointed end up on his usual "racing tra ck"

If it gets punctured more than once, he'll stop doing it. Of course, someone else might also suffer a flat tyre, but means justify the end, don't they? Its like fighting a war to restore democracy. Right?

****! I am all drunk right now. Alone ( Family all left,) and some nice vodka left. So i am drinking it with lime juice and answering yourqueestion right now)

Just ask his father to have him ride it someplace else. If he refuses, call the police. Two problems here. First off, if he's operating it in front of your house that's a public access way and it's illegal for him to operate there. Secondly, he's disturbing the peace.

Why not just ask him not to ride in front of your house. Or maybe just give him some grace, since in a week or so he'll be back in school and you won't have to hear it.
