long story short- Ex wanted to give our son and i a ride home, i refused as he had been drinking. he tried to drag me into his car, when i put up a fight he took our son out of his pram and put him in the car, i jump in as i didnt want him to take our baby. Once we got to my house ( yelling and screaming the whole way) as i was getting our baby out of the car, he tried to pull me out of the way and i turned and hit him,i got our baby and went inside . 4am police came to my house and wanted to see my son as he had made an allegation. I told the police what had happend earlier and they told me to take out a DVO. Later that day he also did. What can i do about this?

you pretty well may have to go in front of a judge but until then, have there been other ocassions when he was violent, especially in front of witnesses? List all of the times when he may have acted vioolent in the past and contact your nearest domestic violence shelter and see if they have advice or recommendations for you or perhaps even may supply an attorney to go with you to court.

stop being trash, and getting in fist fights w/ your baby's daddy especially in front of him! What the hell is wrong with you people? Get a restraining order against him, and file a petition for full custody. And when you go to court on the Domestic Violence charges, explain the situation that happended, and the charges will most likely be dropped or reduced.

I am a real man and I am sorry to you. you should have called the cops the moment a person, any person who is impared, trys to put a child in a car. You are learning a life lesson, just don't let the lesson cost you your life.

if you were making that much noise yelling and screaming maybe there was a witness to what happened. talk to the neighbors and see if any of them will stand up in your defence.
