I am a home owner. I do not smoke - never have but something here doesn't seem right
.
My question refers to a Home Owner's Assignation in Colorado that told condo owners they can not smoke in their own home. The home owners went to court and lost.

These people their bought their condo, signed the lease - then the association changed the smoking rules. If the new rules had been in place at least the owners could of had the option not to move there.
How much power do you believe an association should have over what you do inside your home?
A number of people complain about Big Brother and the government overstepping privacy - is this better?

I really need to know the answer to this question. Some bailiffs came to the property, my goods was in the property as well, but the person in question wasn't in. This was explained to the bailiffs at the door, and they were refused entry. They then passed through the window to gain access to the property. Is this legal. Please do not assume, just I really need the information, as I'm planning on taking them to court!

Surely this cannot be legal, but as I understand it the bailiffs has vast amount of powers.

Help me please!

P.S. I'm in the UK, and they are certified bailiffs acting on behalf of the Local Council. They have never entered the property before. Apparently they have visited on numerous occassions

Interested in how Marijuana may fight dementia and possibly Alzheimers?
The below article was published in the Columbus Dispatch and cites an Ohio State University Study which looks at the effects of marijuana on the brains of rats with dementia.

http://cannabisnews.com/news/22/thread22...

Ohio -- Give an old, confused rat some pot and it starts remembering things. An Ohio State University study shows that synthetic marijuana boosted memory and reduced brain inflammation in rats with brains altered to mimic the effects of Alzheimer’s disease.
Researcher Gary Wenk, a study co-author and Ohio State professor, shared his work at the Society for Neuroscience meeting in Atlanta this week.

The findings support the theory that anti-inflammatories might help fight the devastating disease and add to evidence that compounds in pot might be helpful in treating Alzheimer’s, Wenk said.

I do! 21, same as drinking. I mean really, if you're not responsible yet to control yourself with alcohol (as far as the law sees it) then why are you mature enough to raise another human life? Doesn't make ANY sense to me!

please don't go on about HOW they would control my new theory on "underage mothers", we could argue forever.

Please just say your oppinion on trying to set an age limit. And why you think someone is responsible enough to raise a kid and not have a beer. (don't bring up military soldiers can die for their country and not drink. Unlike young mothers, we get training to do our jobs and to be responsible)

Back when the OJ trail ended I remember I was in College and we watched the verdict and all the white people in the class stood solemn and the black classmates cheered. Why did this have to be about race or MARK FURMAN just to distract FROM THE FACT HE IS A COLD BLOODED KILLER?

The Dutch are up to it again!!! The first to operate a money making slave trade (Dutch Indian Ocean slave trade), and introduce racism into some remote parts of Africa (like, for example, in Rwanda, where they seperated the local black population into two catagories based upon physical appereance, and allowed these sides to kill each other in the 1990's to present), are seeking 'all white all right' political policies to obtain "constitutional guarantee against religious discrimination."(http://www.cbc.ca/world/story/2006/11/17/burqa-ban.html).

As the Dutch government's Immigration Minister Rita Verdonk stated, "The Cabinet finds it undesirable that face-covering clothing — including the burka — is worn in public places, for reasons of public order, security and protection of citizens"

Ok. But are you not a so called 'democratic' country- with freedoms of religions? You show this by BANNING burkas- someones peaceful religious practices?

I am teaching the concept of federalism to my students. We are examining a recent case in California where the County of San Diego is suing to overturn a law (proposition 215) that allows for the medical use of marijuana. Marijuana is listed as a schedule 1 narcotic (most dangerous classification) by the federal government. I am not debating the merits of the law one way or another. I am interested in finding out how the federal law that bans the use of marijuana is resolved with the state law in CA that allows for the use of medical marijuana. How does the federal government punish a person for doing something that is legal in the State of California? I am sorry if this is confusing, but I am trying to understand it myself.

What accounts for the fact that the U.S. has 1/3 of the worlds prison population, but only 1/20th of the worlds population?

"As of 2004 the United States had the highest percentage of people in prison of any nation. At a rate of incarceration of 726 inmates per 100,000, the United States has the highest reported rate in the world, well ahead of the Russian rate of 532 per 100,000. In 2004, more than 2.1 million Americans, or roughly 1 out of every 138, were in prisons or jails, a figure which represented one third of the world's prison population. To illustrate these figures, if the United States had the same rate of incarceration as Japan or China, only about 100,000 people would be in jail."

I was dating this girl who was separated, she decided to go back down to Georgia rekindle her flames with her "ex"-she remembered how much of a jerk he was so she came running back to me. She came back, ended up she's pregnant and was saying "it's for sure yours"-later in June, she went down there again after I pampered her for the three months she was back, at that point, I learned she cheated twice, once in June, once in January, so I was completely done. She moved back up here, had the kid on Oct. 28 and is now threatening to move down to Georgia to be with her supposed to be ex. So far, she's here, the kid's here, no DNA test yet, question is, can she leave the state not knowing the fatherhood of the child? And what are my rights being minnesota has this thing against people with a penis rasing a child? I'm the only one mentally stable out of all three of us.
