There is nothing wrong with adult-stem stem research, which has been quite successful. Embryonic stem cell research is wrong, because it uses tiny human beings without their consent. See:

Abortion is never okay, in the case of rape the baby could be put up for adoption there are hundreds of people out there who can't have children that would take these babies. In the case of the mother losing her life, then that is God's decision and there is a reason for taking that person and who do we think we are to make that decision. Stem cell research has been going on for 20 years and it has yet to be proven beneficial in curing any disease or restoring limbs or eyesight or anything. The term "research" is just one more way for a doctor or a professor or university or drug company to get government money ( our taxes by the way) to continue their lifestyle. As far as it being a woman's decision to have an abortion, baloney, if a pregnant woman is killed and the person who killed her kills the child as well then the perpetrator can be tried for 2 murders, what makes it not murder when a woman who is pregnant makes the decision to end the child's life???? Thanks for the rant I really needed this today.....

I do not believe that abortion is Biblically correct or ethical. If you are a believer, you probably know that in Jeremiah (Old Testament) that God says He knows us before He created us in the womb of our mothers. So therefore our life is already known before Him. Life obviously starts even before the moment of conception with Him.
Also scientific research has shown that the heart starts beating at 24 days old. That is truly amazing. If a heart is beating then, then we must be silly to think that life does not begin earlier. If there is no life there, then why must we do something to stop it - because it is alive.
I don't think a mother, nor a father should have choice - for I do not believe in abortion period. If the parent/parents decide they do not want the child, there are adoption clinics everywhere willing to help and take their children and give them to homes where children are wanted and loved.
I know that many lives can be saved with stem cell research. However, embryonic stem cell research, I believe is Biblically unethical for the same reason I stated abortion is.

Not ok. I don't buy that it's the woman's body and she has a right to kill the baby. That's just a silly slogan to justify the wrong. She had the right to use birth control. That goes for stem cell research also even if it is life started in a test tube. It's just wrong. I just can't stand to think of the suffering of aborted babies and what they may do to a child in a tube. I wouldn't want them to do that for me.

The only way I think a baby should be aborted is if the mother & baby will not survive the delivery. I hate the idea of a baby being killed by abortion! If you don't want to keep your baby I am sure plenty of people would love to have a baby! Even in the mother this IS a living being we are dealing with.

Here's the thing for me: abortion is not ok, I find it morally reprehensible. However, it is not my place to make that decision for another woman. It is between her, her husband, and her God. And another however... There is NO excuse to get pregnant if you don't want to be in this day and age. BC is cheap and easily accessible and if you really can't handle it, don't have sex! For that simple fact, I do think that it would be an ok thing to outlaw abortion. Perhaps then people would start thinking more about their sexual decisions and the fact that there are actual consequences from having sex.
I find it horrible that fathers have no rights and aren't included in the decision. I find stem cells to be wrong.
Life begins at conception. That is a biological fact. It is a living, growing, multi-celled organism.
You're just asking for rants on both sides here!

"I believe abortion is wrong because it teaches people they don't have to take responsibility for their actions." How so? Abortion is taking responsibility for your actions. Pregnancy alone needs good care, and if you don't have the money for the prenatal vitamins, and the doctor visits, and everything else that goes along with it then you're neglecting the pregnancy. Not taking responsibility for your actions is having a child you can't afford, can't care for, who will very unlikely ever get adopted. Which is basically any child that isn't white and isn't just about perfectly healthy. Most people do take precautions when they have sex. But thanks largely due to abstinence only education, they do not know how to properly take care of themselves or they believe absolute BS. For example, they may not know how to properly put a condom on. They may believe that a girl being on her period or pulling out prevents pregnancy. They may even try stupid s8it like using a deodorant cap as a female condom. "Just like if I decide to start smoking. If I get cancer, I need to take responsibility of that because I chose to smoke." And would taking responsibility be? Just sitting on your couch everyday, waiting to die? Or going to the doctor and getting help? Just about anyone who cares about dogs would tell you are a stupid irresponsible POS who should be shot if you try to adopt a dog that you can't pay vet bills for, can't provide the time and love they need, and don't particularly like dogs anyways. I can't help but wonder about the mentality of a person who thanks the responsible thing to do is for some to force themselves through nine months of pregnancy when they don't want it, can't afford it, don't have the time or energy for it, and when most likely the child is also going to suffer dearly.

Either a human is a human or it isn't. What is a human? The only scientific definition that everyone can agree on is our genetics (DNA). So any human, regardless of skin color, height, religion, or age is human as long as they have human DNA. A human's DNA does not change from conception until death. So regardless of where the human is in development (conception, 6 weeks, 1 year, 10 years, 100 years) it is still human.
We can't kill humans based on skin color, country of origin, religion, hair color, or anything else because we are all human. So why can we kill a human (scientifically provable by DNA) based on nothing more than age? It is illogical and immoral.
Abortion is undefensible in any context (scientific, moral, religious,etc.). It is a crime against humanity and a clear demonstration of just how sick our society is that we allow it.

NO WAY! Abortion is not ok whatsoever. We all have spirits and when they kill the baby it's just like killing someone that is thirty years old. But then people say well spirits are not real, God is not real. Well let me just say this. Ok people that believe in ghost now have to believe in spirits and God because if the big bang happened spirits just didn't happen. Why aren't monkeys (the real name i cant think of) still evolving?? why do we have feelings if there was just a big bang.....lots more but i hope that answers your question........

It is... a necessary evil. Preventing an unwanted pregnancy is obviously preferable, and abortion is less optimal of a moral choice than bearing a pregnancy to term, but abortion is better than forcing someone who does not want to be pregnant to be pregnant and give birth.
