If you have been following the news for the past decade or so you might know how nearly all of Africa is in a mess. Political coruption on a scale that the world has never seen. Stavation on millions because of selfish leaders to steal money from the dozen of nations that try to feed these poor people. Should we in America go to Africa and teach them how to not steal, how to govern in an honest way, help them set up laws, show them how to live. We just watched a tape from one of the largest charities in Africa...these people only know how to hold out their hands for hand outs, most have never had a job and know nothing of personal responsibilty. My brother finished his masters in Ed..this past summer, he spent 2 Month's with the Africans, he was shocked how self-driven everyone one is, they think little beyond their own personal needs...thusly we have the poverty we have there.

what should we do?

Let's face it, teenagers do stupid things, disagree with their parents, do drugs, talk back, do other bad things, etc. So should we take away various freedoms until they become an adult? Should they have things like freedom of speech, freedom of thought, freedom from self-incrimination, or should these all be controlled by adults until they're mature enough to handle these without abusing them?

My son just started working in a family type restaurant in Orange County, CA. He tells me that they are keeping part of his pay at the end of the day. As he explains it, if he makes $200 worth of business in his designated area each night, and he makes $40 in tips, the Restaurant keeps about 20%? I have not heard of this law and perhaps he is not clear as to why. I've asked him to talk to his manager and have them explain this to him. I have been a waiter when I was younger and then in my profesional career I have been in management so I thought I was thoroughly knowledgable about labor laws. This one threw me for a loop, I am familiar with tip laws but not having an employer withhold additional tip money from their employers. Any ideas outhere?

Come on people these perverts have sex with CHILDREN. What's the point of imprisoning them for a few years? Do you think they're actually going to stop this behaviour when they are free again?
How many friends do you have that were sexually molested as children and are complete basket cases now? Robbing a child of their innocence is the WORST crime imagineable.
I don't need to hear any religious ranting about how GOD will judge them...we are here, we are earthbound, we need to take control of this NOW.

You may not like my questions but I give FULL points for good answers.

What does it mean when a person has the term "esquire" or "esq." following their name? Does it denote that they have their Juris Doctorate (J.D.)? Or that they have passed the Bar exam, or that they are admitted to practice law in the state in which they are located?

Can the term be used by someone who has the necessary qualification but works in a non-legal field (i.e.- a J.D. or admitted attorney working in the business field in a non-law related context)?

Finally, is there a masculine and feminine version of the word, such as with the word "executor" and "executrix"?

Thanks!

Example:

If you're cought driving under influence, and your salary is 1.000.000$ you would be fined 10%, so 100.000$.

If some other person who has a 5000$ salary is cought in the same situation he wil be fined 10% so 500$

Do you think this is fair? or should both guys pay the same amount.

my boyfriend made a small mistake in a desperate situation (he took a few dollars worth of food from his previous place of employment when he couldn't afford it.) His employer specifically told him that he would not be placed on the retail theft database. My boyfriend co operated fully, and agreed to pay restitution. In addition to demanding six times the amount he agreed to pay, he later found he was on the database when he applied to another company. Yet they refuse to let him see the charges against him or even the contract he signed because it's 'confidential.'
