I worked for a couple of doctors for a year. Instead of paying for my health insurance they agreed to pay towards my student loans. Their billing people and accountants were aware of this deal. I quit a year later because they were horrible to work for. Two weeks later I get a call from the local police that I'm being charged with theft. They are very influential doctors and managed to get me indicted! So, now I have been charged with forgery and theft. All based on my fringe benefit checks. The agreement was that I spend the money student loans but I never got the chance because bills, rent, etc. always ended up coming first. My attorney seems to think the case is winnable but I would have to prove where the money went and I can't! If we went to court the docs would have to lie under oath that they did not agree to the fringe benefits. They obviously will since they lied to police. Diversion has been offered but I must admit guilt and repay. Any suggestions?

I recently recieved a speeding ticket in FL, and one day my law professor told us that if any infomation on the ticket is incorrect, the ticket itself is invalid, and I don't have to pay anything. I went home and check the ticket I received and found that under "Race", the officer put down the wrong race, does this ticket still valid??? If not what action do I need to take??? Thanks!!!! The ticket amount is 80 dollar.

Me and my co-workers are having a discussion on this: If a cop gives you a ticket for speeding and it's impossible for you to see him (he's behind a wall with his lights off, etc) then technically it's entrapment and if you take it to court you with a good lawyer you win. My view is that it's not entrapment because your breaking the law on your own, and entrapment is only when the cops do something to help you break the law. Theirs is that since you can't see the cops and aren't given the chance to correct yourself that it's entrapment. What do you think?

My husband has a court case coming up on the 18th. His ex is suing him for unpaid child support. However, he is completely paid up through the county attorney's office which handles the case. She is also trying to have his visitation reduced and force him to pay for daycare (which is not neccessary) and her private school. Also, she wants to have his child support increased and is claiming she never received two large child support payments from him from two years ago EVEN THOUGH we gave her, her lawyer, and the county attorney's office copies of the money orders with her signature on the back. Under Rule 11, parties can sue for lawyers fees if the other parties' suit is deemed frivolous. Is this a viable option?

Letting teenagers do anything sexual in the first place undermines abstinence education that saves lives, so why not ban any teenage sexuality altogether? Teenagers are still children, they don't need to be sexual at all.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. government discriminates against blind people because American currency is not designed to be distinguishable to visually impaired people, a federal judge said on Tuesday.

U.S. District Judge James Robertson said the government needed to figure out a way to design and distribute currency that includes an element to help blind people tell the bills apart.

Robertson was ruling on a lawsuit filed by The American Council of the Blind against the U.S. Treasury Department. The council accused the department of violating the Rehabilitation Act, which was passed by Congress to ensure that people with disabilities can maximize their independence and "inclusion and integration into society."

"Of the more than 180 countries that issue paper currency, only the United States prints bills that are identical in size and color in all their denominations," Robinson wrote.

Anthropology is what I want to do, but jobs are very limited and there's a lot of traveling involved. I've been told that I would make a good lawyer, and I wanted to be a lawyer since I was a child. But, they say being a lawyer is not an easy job, and a lot of people will not like you. The reason why I want to be an Anthropologist is to make people more aware of the world and help people...the reason why I want to be a lawyer is to fight for people's rights and not give up on their cause. I like standing up for people. But is the headache worth it?
