I recently recieved a speeding ticket in FL, and one day my law professor told us that if any infomation on the ticket is incorrect, the ticket itself is invalid, and I don't have to pay anything. I went home and check the ticket I received and found that under "Race", the officer put down the wrong race, does this ticket still valid??? If not what action do I need to take??? Thanks!!!! The ticket amount is 80 dollar.

You can try to go to Court and dispute the ticket, but then most likely you will be saddled with additional Court Costs if you lose.

In theory, if any information on the ticket is incorrect, is should be void, but I had a "seat belt violation" and even had my seat belt on and the Cop that wrote the ticket indicated that I was going North on a street that I was going East...there was not North! The judge found against me as he said the cop had the benefit of the doubt and I ended up paying $250 for what might have been at $50 ticket.

A ticket is merely a order to apper in court,

Next how did they get the race wrong,

In general most courts will not throw out a ticket. Next it is possible also for the officer just to re-issue a new ticket, since the statue of limitation has not run out

the placement with it truly is, you haven't any way of proving your case of at the same time as this incident truly occurred. despite the indisputable fact that, a large style of the time with dashing tickets the position the speed you've been going isn't a daft quantity over the decrease, and also you contest it, think ofyou've got the fee ticket brushed aside and easily be required to pay a small quantity, likely $50 or so, to a charity precise through the courtroom. Take a probability and contest it. The worst that would want to ensue is think ofyou've got to pay the fee ticket that you would might want to do besides in case you do not bypass to courtroom

Talk to a lawyer. My boyfriend had a ticket with the wrong info on it and he didn't fight it and we found out later that he would have won. The information on his ticket that was wrong was the city where the violation occured though. Stupid pig. Even stupider boyfriend for not fighting it.

You can get a lawyer and try to fight it but I think that to get out of it the incorrect information would have to be stuff like:

name
court address
court date
date of infraction
drivers license number
