The penalties for those who prey on children is disgustingly mild. I agree with you 100% that a few years in jail is simply not enough. Those who are victimized face a lifetime of pain as a result of what has happened to them.
But, castration will not solve the problem. Sexual abuse is about controlling and humiliating the victim and surprisingly has very little to do with sex.
Those who have the potential to commit these crimes will find another way to abuse their victims. Penetration is not the only way to sexually abuse a child. You would be horrified by how creative these monsters can be. And castration will not take away the desire.
The good news is that some states have started to enact laws to make the punishment of sex offenders more severe. New York state just passed a law that would make the penalty for at least one offense, life in prison (I believe it's 1st degree rape of a child, but I can't be sure). The expansion of the sex offender registry and the establishment of child advocacy centers is also crucial to the fight against these vile individuals.
We can all do our part by writing to our state politicians to expand resources available to child victims and to make the laws tougher on pedophiles.

The recidivism rate of pedophiles is approximately 95%. They let them out and then don't watch them. I was sexually abused as a child and it has affected everything in my life. I don't know the answer to this but I personally would kill every deviant harming a child in this way. If I find out it has happened to a child in our neighborhood, you'll see me in prison. It's happened more than people will admit. Almost every friend I have was molested as a child, male and female. In my case it was passed down through generations and stopped with me. They have drugs, castration, etc...but none have had any lasting effects. If there were a non-populated community to send them to, then that might be the ticket. They would be able to exploit each other rather than harming another child. I honestly don't know the answer but I do know laws need to be changed regarding this travesty of justice.

Do they? Good question I would say no. They deserve to be punish to the fullest extent of the law. That’s what I believe and tats what is happening in the United States. I would also think that some sort of education be put out their for the parents. I not saying it’s the parents fault that this happen to their kid, but I think the parents have the responsibility to find out whats going on in their kids life. I no what my kids are doing and who their with for the most part. That is what matters to me. I grew up being assaulted by my uncle. Does this mean I broken, different, will offend? I think not , I’m a survivor and that’s it. Do I have memories of this? Yes, and I forgave him for what he did. That what it took to help me move on. Some other people would be different. Castration would be the easy fix, but then what about their finger and mouth. I guess I believe what I know and not what I read from a paper.

Castration is not the answer. First, the penis still works even after castration. Second, a vast majority of sex offenses against children aren't rapes-offenders molest children using their hands, mouths, foriegn objects etc. Third, not all sex offenders are male.

I agree totally with you. I know 5 people that were abused as a child and they are scared forever. They are always afraid of people because they think they are going to hurt them. If they got castrated, I know those people would not be as afraid to meet people. That was something I never thought about doing.

That (castration) sure would solve one aspect of the problem. Of course they still can do other terrible things to kids, with or without their anatomy.
I also think the threat of castration, and seeing that is done on other pedophiles, would certainly make them think twice before acting out inappropriately.

It depends on the crime, its severity and the length of time it was committed. Yossi Sabag from Israel, for example-who sexually assaulted and raped a girl for four years-should be castrated.

I agree. They should be taken to the town square and castrated in front of the whole town. Embarassment is the best teacher.

Do you really think castrating them will prevent them from causing children harm? They can do other awful things without that body part.

penal complex is meant as punishment. maximum folk do not ruin the regulation because they worry the punishment. right that's the element about pedophiles. they have the bottom recidivism price of any crime. surely which ability they don't seem repeat offenders. it form of feels to me that penal complex works o.k. on pedophiles. They ruin the regulation, they get stuck, they bypass to penal complex, they get out, and maximum of them by no ability ruin the regulation again. a lot for the incurable idea. on the different hand, what crime has the optimal recidivism price? drugs. They ruin the regulation, get stuck, bypass to penal complex, the position we spend 100's of tens of millions of money a 12 months on "treatment" they get out, and they bypass decrease back to using drugs and bypass decrease back to penal complex. a lot for treatment. i'm no longer hostile to treating human beings for his or her complications. i'm hostile to FORCING human beings into medical look after their complications. they ought to pick help and actively search for it out themselves or it really is ineffective. each and every 12 months the courts rigidity thousands of lower than the effect of alcohol drivers to attend AA conferences. And what do we get? a gaggle of lower than the effect of alcohol drivers who comprehend the position AA meets. in my opinion i imagine anybody who commits a sex crime hostile to a baby should be taken out decrease back and shot contained in the top. even though it truly is purely my knee jerk reaction. i wager it really is a reliable element cooler heads are responsible.
