Depending on "why" you want to sue FedEx, there are several things to think about.
Did you personally deal w/ a FedEx Office (shipping outlet), did you use a store that promised you something that FedEx failed to do (like a pick-up Service) or do you have a Business Account set up with them?

If you were just shipping an envelope overnight & it didn't arrive on time, most lawyers won't even see you. Simply because no one can control the Weather, etc. If it was a package containing something breakable & they packed it for you, then they are liable for any damages.

If it was something that personally cost you alot of time, effort & money to send out and it didn't arrive on time (say a Business Contract), then you need to find out as much information about WHY it didn't- the Tracking Number is never used twice within a year's period. Call them repeatedly & write down Everything- from the date & time, the Support Person's Name and what they said in response to your questions. If you still don't have a "reasonable" answer to your questions & Problem, start writing letters. If FedEx even senses you may bring legal action against them, they will usually try to settle out of court.

Most Lawyers are hesistant to go after a Corporation as large as FedEx because they have Legal Teams that are verry skilled at what they do. Especially in terms of being sued.

If you need to sue over something that would be in small claims court, your best bet would be to buy one of those lawyer programs and do it yourself.

Let your fingers do the walking in the "yellow pages", and if you have a solid case, many lawyers with do it with no money down, but they have to know they are going to win.
