I was reading the MSN headlines today, apparently NASA says we have about a decade to change our direction before we get hit. What do they mean by 'hit'? I can't see anything changing in 10 years so I guess we're screwed.

Why not get all the rapists, murderers, child abusers, serial violent offenders and stick them all on an island together - they would have the oppurtunity to work the land to grow food - but they would get nothing given to them. In short they would actually have to work for a living.

I heard you can get away with murder if you can pay for the right lawyer. So basically you would pay to not go to jail. Is this true, and what lawyer would be best for an international trial. One single murder, not mass. By the way, Johnny Cochran is dead. lol

He is not under my lease, he came in one day and told me he was staying at my apartment. Now, 2 weeks later, I am thinking of how to get rid of him. Am I *required* to go to some court and get some kind of 30 day eviction notice? If that's the case, what's from stopping some random bum from going to your apartment and saying "I live here."?

My best idea so far is to take all of his belongings and put them outside and lock my doors.

He has no keys.

I just quit a job that I worked for 3 days. Among my cheif complaints was that the shifts were 7 hours 5 days a week and a few hours on Sat. This meant that I was only intitled to one paid 15 min. break a day plus an unpaid 30 min. lunch. I think a job should give an hourly employee a break every two hours but I had to come in at 7am and work 'til 9. Take a paid 15 min break and then work from 9:15 to 12 noon without a break and then work from 12:30 to 2:30pm. I know it may be legal but is it right? I didn't know it would work this way when I agreed to take the job. I thought she said the hours were from 7:30 am to 2pm not 7am to 2pm...lol...I heard what I wanted to hear I guess!

I am interested in becoming a lawyer because I believe that it is the right profession for me, because I love debate, and I love helping people get what they deserve. My question is do you like practicing law or being in law school, or do you regret the decision you made? I would really appreciate it if you could give me some advice or tips on what I should do it would really help.

And it cost over $300 to fix it. I later found out my father did it one night. He said he wasn't drinking but it was because we had gotten into a big argument a while back. I keyed up his car in return and now he wants to take me to court, what should I do?

Our elderly neighbor says she has very sensitive ears, and my BF's music is too loud. Her daughter came to our door and got quite nasty with my BF. He really dosent play it that loud. He also does not want to use headphones all the time. We are not breaking local or association regulations, but I do not want more problems with neighbors than I have already had(dog problems with another neighbor allowing their dog to poop in our yard every day) Moving is not an option.

I was reading about Jeffrey Dahmer's 15 life sentences equalling out to 943 years in prison. I was under the idea that man can only live at most about 100 years.

If a person or being is given a multiple life sentence in prison, you think they would make more sense of it by setting an execution date three days after the trial subsided.

Aside from legal specialization, demeanor, and public appearance - how do you decide on the best lawyer for representation - can you pull checks on them - like how many cases won, etc.....?
