We don't even own our own things we buy because it is all released by the government before us. Freedom of speech, non existent, freedom of religion nonexistent, right to bear arms; besides for the criminals nonexistent. They need to rewrite all of the grand design plans and rights.

Great philosophical question. Essentially you do own yourself unless you owe money then...but seriously in many religions it's against spiritual beliefs to kill ourselves and I suppose the state made this a law in part out of debt relief for the survivors and in part for religion even though state isn't suppose to be involved in this .

Legally, I don't think you do own yourself in the strictest sense. For instance, you cannot sell your body parts and you do not own cell lines promulgated from one of your stem cells.
Anyway, those are the general principles I learned in first year property law.

You do not own yourself. You are government tax paying property! If you kill yourself, you deny the government tax money. They could execute you for killing yourself, or at least give you a life sentence.

Yes, I am the master of My Domain......because the government thinks You are a little out of "whack" to think You'd want to bump Yourself off. Therefore, they would like You to have some professional help. Then come the lawyers.

ideally God "owns you" however, If you attempt suicide then you are considered "not in your right mind" and a "danger" to yourself. They incarcerate you to 'save you from yourself'.
