Two residents one lives directly above the other in a block of flats. The person on the lower floor is a leaseholder, the one above is a tenant with the council. Due to a fault in the piping under the kitchen sink, water intermittently leaks down onto the leaseholder below causing some water damage. Each time the tenant is made aware of the leak she calls her landlord, the council, to come and repair the leak, but after a while the leak starts again, unknown to the tenant. This happens regularly.

As a result of the water damage to her property, the leaseholder below decides to sue the tenant above.

Who is liable for the water damage? And why? Where possible please give sources for your answer.

if a human being kills another individual they just get sent to jail? We're meant to be the smartest living things on planet earth but we are one of the only ones who kill for the sake of it or none food purposes? I reckon they should punish us the way they punish animals! Anyone agree???

"Pro-lifers" (or ANTI-CHOICERS) are ignorant, uneducated, and CONTRADICTORY. They are not really pro-life as they claim to be.

If they were pro-life, they would NOT support a war killing thousands of REAL, INNOCENT children as opposed to an insignificant embryo or fetus. (The majority of pro-lifers are conservative republicans who SUPPORT the war.)

If they were were pro-life, they would not support killing animals just to satisfy their taste buds, or to make a fashion statement (furs, animal skins, etc).

If they were pro-life, they would not kill insects.

If they were pro-life, they would not support people who bomb abortion clinics, kill doctors who perform abortions, harass innocent employees at abortion clinics, nor would they do it themselves.

If they were pro-life, they would not support the dealth penalty.

My marriage split 4 years ago, and I've been living with my current girlfriend for about 3 1/2 years. Legally, I'm still married. However, I want to propose to my GF.

Can I do this, without breaking any laws?

I've searched the net, and found diddly squat, to answer my question!

I told this woman I didn't want to be "friends" with her anymore and I look on my 360 and for some reason thought to look at her photo album and she has pics of my children on them. She is definately not taking this well but I never thought she would victimize children over it. Her daughter was friends with mine and she took pics at their school and posted them for all to see.

I'm looking for a historical answer, not a legal one - i.e "it started back in the year XXXX when....", NOT "rule X.X. states that".

Also, if you live in a jurisdiction where this tradition has (sensibly) died out, or you don't live in a common law jurisdiction, please don't just say you don't have that rule - it doesn't answer my question.

Specifically, if you live in an American jurisdiction that doesn't have the pink ribbon rule, PLEASE take a moment before answering to consider that the rest of the world isn't just something on Fox News - it's out there and it doesn't have your legal system. Sorry to have to say that, I truly am.

We are about to engage an architect to help us with a remodel. We have received the standard abbreviated AIA contract from him. What terms should we look out for and negotiate (apart from price of course!) ?

Ok I will post in sequence order of events...

1) Struggling good friend finally got job, didn't wanna put $400+ down for a cell phone because of no credit, so I got it in my name. (yeah, I know, mistake #1)

2) One night we are hanging out, I ask him to drive home, he hits a deer, I only have state (MS) minimum required (liability) insurance, no police report was filed, he offered to pay $500, $100 a week for five weeks until, I didn't agree or disagree because I knew the damages were gonna be well over that. So I kept quiet.

3) I finished the drive home, he was very apologetic that night. Didn't hear from him in a while after that night, figured he would contact me in a few weeks because his phone bill was due, that didn't happen.

4) I have proof he caused the car wreck by a recorded conversation, he has no proof he ever gave me any money for the phone bill for months ;-)

Small claims in MS max only $2,500. Need next better option because I'm looking at well over $3,500

Although the tax payer gets the bill - shelters make money and so do non profit housing and it employs a lot of addiction counsellors and social workers and corectional officers. The welfare recipient is a winning solution to the government - The tax payer picks up the bill and the sub class that will never get out of the cycle Employs more than is reasonable to believe.

Thin about the fact that the Salvation Army who houses a lot of hiomeless is a billion dollar company that begs on the street with a little bell at christmas time.

Try for a second to get over that chunk out of your paycheck and look where it actually goes and who gets it and so forth

How do we stop the poverty industry? It is linked to the drug industry and the sex trade etc. Topple one and the whole thing will come down
