the example situation is:

john discovered that chris was violating one of the company's rules by accidentally opening a logged conversation of chris and his friend. john told his friend about it, and soon the violation was discovered by the administration. chris intentionally opened john's logged conversations and discovered that john and other workmates were talking about him behind his back. can this be a ground for defamation? can chris file defamation against john?

We have for the past 60 years had a policy that allows Presidents to pursue "Police Actions" and avoid going to Congress and ask for them to declare war. Isn't this unconstitutional? Why? Why not?

This is at my condo in Brookfield, WI and the fine is a city ordinance violation. Is this ever going to stand up in court? The police gave me a $172 ticket for "prohibited noise violation" because I was talking to a friend in my garage late at night and a neighbor says she could hear it. The garage door is very thin aluminum and the cops said they could hear me from the other side of the door, but c'mon, it was only talking and it's not like a was yelling or something. I got a copy of the police report and the cops said I was talking 'very loud', which I don't think I was. They warned me a couple weeks ago for 'loud talking' but said it would be ok so long as I kept my garage door shut. I kept it shut though and they gave me the ticket anyway.

I've noticed on a lot of court shows (Judge Mathis, Judy, etc.), that many people sue for pain and suffering. Sometimes it's the Defendant, adding it in addition to their original purpose of suing, and then, in some cases, the Plaintiff countersues. While i'm not trying to judge these people, sometimes I think it's a bit ridiculous to sue for pain and suffering for something like a cell phone bill. In your opinion, do you think they do this mainly for more money, because their original point of suing won't get them much? Also, outside of the Judge Judy or Judge Mathis show, how well would the claim of pain and suffering hold up in the courtroom?

I work for a hospital and the my insurance provider is forcing me to have lab work (a semen analysis for infertility) performed in the hospital, by practitioners I know. I believe this is a very sensitive and private procedure that I am not comfortable doing with people I see on a daily basis standing outside the door. I could bring the sample from home to the hospital but I live over an hour from my job and according to my physician, the sample needs to be analyzed within the first hour for best results. My insurance company, which icidentally is owned by the hospital I work for, denied my request to have the lab work performed by another lab. I also know that the hospital I work for has a history of terminating employees they have inappropriately accessed the medical information of patients they knew. Given this history, I am not very comfortable having this procedure done knowing that there is a good chance that my medical information may be accessed for inappropriate reasons.

This person in question moved her mother and father to New Mexico, put them in nursing homes and used a power of attorney to change the Will and would not allow her sister (the person I'm helping out) to see the Will and she's not allowed to contact her mother either. Also does anyone know where she can request the Will because I've heard that Wills are public knowledge after someone passes.

okay, anyone 18 or older with proof of age can now buy the morning after pill otc. but what is stopping 18 and older girls from purchasing it in large quantitities and selling it? did the govt even think of that? apparently not! how stupid can they be? this gives girls the okay to have sex unprotected even more. I think the govt is being just as irresponsible as they are. I am so tired of hearing girls say "it just happend, or I wasn't trying to get preg". WTF is wrong with them? nothing "just happens". everything is a process leading up to action. Your penis did not "accidently get in her vagina did it? you had to get together, go in the room(or wherever), lay down (or stand up for those of you who are gymnastically inclined) take your clothes off, and then do it. thats 3 or 4 chances to do the right thing, and in between all those chances you can't put a condom on? WTF! take responsibility. don't mean to be harsh, just venting and telling like it is!

Ok someone I know has a huge issue at hand. Friend A added a line & phone to her cell phone plan for Friend B since she didn't have the credit or money for the big deposit. At this point, Friend A was still living at home so Friend B was very good at paying her part of the bill in fear of facing the wrath of Friend A's mom (lol). They were also very close at the time. A few months later, Friend A gets married & moves into her own place. Since then Friend B has been screwing her over & not paying her & giving excuses all the time...her bf has also been using the phone & helped rack up large charges. This caused the service to be disconnected & the bill to raise to a very high amount that Friend A & her husband cannot afford. They no longer talk to Friend B, are refusing to pay the bill (partially cause they cannot) & wish to sue her for the money. What do they do if they do in fact sue but she doesn't pay because she has no job or barely one at all? How do they get the money from her?

I need to set up a general release from liability form covering finanacial and personal matters regarding a family member. Would I have to see a lawyer because I heard that a paralegal can do the same legally official thing for way less money. It also would have to be legal in the states of PA and WA.

We spend massive amounts of money trying to stop the importation of ilegal drugs. None of this would be needed if the American people did not desire them. You know who you are. So you light up a joint, snort a line. It is not the drug dealers causing the problem. It is the drug USERS. You. I am not in favor of drug laws. But untill you, the ilegal drug users, take a stand and force a change, I have nothing but contempt for you.
