Immigration - June 2007

[Selected]: All categories Politics & Government Immigration

I am going to be supporting US immigration laws in a speech and my class is composed of nothing but minorities (mostly Mexicans) and the ignorant ones are loud mouths. So you can pretty much imagine how hard the audience is going to be on me. I already know that US immigration laws are hardly enforced at all but thats an entirely different story, I just support them. I need to be able to come up with effective responses to anticipated statements while not offending anyone. Also, PLEASE people who are against our current immigration laws do not answer this question unless you are gonna help me, I already looked on both sides the argument and I don't need further influences to change my opinion. By the way, if you guys know other things they'd say, then I am all ears. Now, this is where you guys come in, I need help replying to these statements.....

1. Why should the US have strict immigration laws when it is composed entirely of immigrants from foreign countries to begin with?

Why can't our government make any decisions these days? They're always too busy arguing and trying to make the other party look bad to actually look out for the best interest of the country.

Every one knows, that it will be bad for the American public, and the only ones that will gain from it in the long run will be the Politicains and the corporations that are backing them.

It just appears to me that any one that is fighting for amnesty is blind to what it will lead to.

Argentinian golfer Angel Cabrera won more than 3,000,000 dollars at US open ( 1,600,000 for the cup and much more on advertisement), but I know US society is racist, I bet US citizens are happy to know Tiger Woods was deffeated...you know why.... jajajaja!
Ans at last , but not least,I know why US citizens are angry, they are realizing that they dont have anything special, the wealth of USA relies on its Imperialist policy, nothing else....

2. The physically demanding nature of the cross is its own natural Filter

3. Major choice to immigrate to find a civil lifestyle and better education for kids

A mental determination to advance oneself and kids and physical ability to complete.

LOS ANGELES - All of her life, Zoila Meyer believed she was an American. She even won election to the City Council of Adelanto.

But now she is facing a threat of deportation for illegally voting, because she never became a citizen after being brought to this country from Cuba when she was 1 year old.

"To be honest with you, I'm scared. How can they just pluck me out of my family, my kids?" the 40-year-old mother of four said in a telephone interview Friday.

"If they can do this to me, they can do it to anybody," she said.

Last time I checked, rightly or wrongly, Northern Ireland was a part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. So why are the English, Welsh and Scottish barred from applying?

but how can they, when most of the illegal immigrants are poor and never had an opportunity for an education

to get a visa they either have to be rich or educated, but the illegals can bareley feed themseves back in Mexico.

They come to the US for work and a better life, they don't expect Americans to hand them anything, they come to earn money by doing some of the most rigorous, back breaking work.

Just to have Americans complain about immigrants taking their jobs, Would you really carry wood boxes full of vegetables in triple digit heat? or clean toilets for minimum wage? Even if you were willing to do it,soon you would demand higher wages and i'm not willing to pay $25 for a box of strawberries., that's what most Americans don't understand; higher wages = higher prices

and coming here is no picnic neither, they risk their lifes by cramming themselves in the back of a trailer or by crossing the desert, many have died already.

They do this because they have to.

weird!
Most Americans are pro-Comprehensive Reforms and Full Civil rights for Immigrants.
But the anti-Mexican Media is manipulated by a minority!
Is this Democracy or Autocracy?

why don't you white racists understand that by discriminating, humiliating and openly attacking illegal hispanics , you are only creating more conflict between yourselfs and legal/illegal hispanics.

Racism creates more racism , hate creates more hate

you guys are widening the gap between cultures, if you push the hispanics they will try to push back, hispanics that were previously indifferent of the matter are now pulling together in favor of the illegal immigrants after seeing all your racist remarks.

No one likes the " they're illegal criminals and should go back to Mexico" BS, we all know you're racists even if you say otherwise.
