Remember, a yes vote on cloture is really a yes vote on the bill. If they are against the bill, they should vote no on cloture.

stev, even so they need to know how you feel. One of my Senators is Feinstein who wants Ag Jobs so bad she considers it her own legacy, and is no way going to vote against the bill so long as AgJobs is in it. However, I still write her, so she will at least understand the pressure the others are under who don't have such a huge stake in the bill.

Yes, actually, the outrage on this bill has really brought many of them up short. McCain will never get the Republican nomination for President now, and they all know why.

John, Boxer is now saying 'she'll have to see where it comes out' which sounds like she plans to vote yes on cloture. I wrote her again this morning stressing that the no vote on cloture is crucial.

I am continuing to let my Senators, Feinstein & Boxer know that I consider the bill, as written, to be a vote for Globalism and Open Borders, and a huge financial liability for the middle class American taxpayers. I don't believe that the increased border security will ever be implemented. The current version of the bill states that the border security provisions are at the discretion Secretary of Homeland Security, who I believe has been directed by the administration to lower the priority of secuity on our borders to be in compliance with the direction of the SPP.

Believe me people, they do care when the issue is this devisive. The congress would have loved to just pass this and make big business happy all the while screwing the people, but it is the outrage of the people that is holding them back. Go straight to the link below and find your senator and give them "what for". There is an election in 2008 and 1/3 of the senators are up for re-election. Find out about your state and make it clear to them that they will lose your vote in 2008 if they ignore the American people. They cannot be counted on to enforce our laws anymore.

It seems that shortly after election, too many of our politicians forget the privilege they have been afforded by the people who elected them. The privilege of being one of the chosen few, elected to shape the lives of our children and our very own future. From watching the debate on C-SPAN over illegal immigration, it shows there are only two sides to this debate. On one side of the debate is a few potential candidates that would love the votes from over 20 million presently illegal’s. On the other side are the few levelheaded politicians explaining that our Social Security system can not handle the working baby boomers legal generation. Inevitably it would only be the working middle class that would sustain the great increase in just the food stamp DEMAND on the welfare system alone.

How come yours posted and mine didn't? Oh well, yes. Good news. However Reid decided not to yank it and is going to try for cloture later today, again. I think he wanted to see who would vote again (they missed cloture by 3 votes) and is now going to try to change people's minds. More calls and emails are in order. But definitely they are getting attention. --EDIT I beg your pardon, they fell over 20 votes short. I read the numbers backwards. Well, well.

Yes I have let my senators know many times. Boxer actually changed her position and says she no longer backs the bill. But Feinstein won't budge, she said she hopes the bill passes.

Actually, they should know by now that I oppose this bill and why. But, just in case they still don't understand, yes, I'm still attempting to let them know.
No to cloture, no to shamnesty.

Everyday and I do remind them that a yes on cloture is a yes for the bill.

Does it really matter when the president could care less what the majority of Americans feel.

I did. I asked my congressman to stand up and vote with the people for a change, instead of cringing for votes and trying to get re-elected.

my senators wouldnt give a flying f--k what I thought. They decide how to vote on how it will affect their political future.
