Immigration - November 2006

[Selected]: All categories Politics & Government Immigration

I don't have any kids yet. But I'm worried that when I do, they will be neglected from a proper education because of all the illegals being granted amnesty. I can't see how the government is going to fund a school system that it already can't afford. they will be so concentrated on the illegals education and getting them up to par, that it's gonna hold back the students that are citizens and do speak english. Also who's gonna pay for this funding to educate illegals that aren't going to pay for it themselves? Oh, I forgot, the taxpayers get to. Hurray!!

I've often wondered how immigration continues if so many people are against it. If you were to sample say one hundred random people in the US for instance, I'm sure you'd find very few supporters of it. The vast majority couldn't care less or would be against it.

So if this is the case why does it continue. Who is actually for it??? Big business, lawyers, realtors, etc..............

im a mexican and i dont know why people have so much negativity to illegal immagrants.they come here searching for a better life for thier children and for themselvs,if you lived in mexico and were poor couldnt find work and homeless wouldnt you try and do the samething!the kids cant go to school cause they have to go and work to try and make money for thier family.you always see on tv the little mexican kid tryin to sell some gum for money do you think thats what the kid wants to do, dont you think they want to go to school!but no they cant cause they are too poor.it sickens me how the people of this country are acting!we are people too, what do you just want us to stay in mexico and starve to death!supposedly america is the land of opportunity!not for mexicans i guess!thats all i have to say!

Is it true that Illegals just wanna be friendly with Americans? Of course it is stealing that illegals do, since they do not pay taxes, healthcare, and so on. But shouldn't we make them citizens so that they could give their fair share to America such as pay taxes, pay healthcare, and so on? Instead of sending them back home, we could make them citizens so that they can see how they have to pay taxes and junk, then they would probably become bored of paying their taxes and see how annoying it is, then they might go to their countries.

Ok my parents are US residents, ive never been illegal in the US cuz i came as a turist in that "turist" time my dad (i dont know how to say this) send the papers and everything so i can become a resident too, About 1 year and 3 months ago they(goverment or immigration or the ppl that do that) send me a letter saying that my residence was approve and that now i just will have to wait 990 days to get my green card

My question is after that 990 days im gonna get my green card (wish i think i am but some1 told my mom that im just gonna get an id and work permission, cuz the letter says that after the 990 i could get in adjust? i dont know what that means?) obviously i can't travel cuz i wont be able to get in the US again, so can u tell me if after that time im gonna get my green card & travel? or an "adjusment" and what is that mean??

(PS. im not married, my dad did that when i was 17, and ive never been illegal so they wont punish me)

Thanks for all your help.

After all, we're all entitled to opinions, and, for the time being anyway, our thoughts arent subject to prosecution. For example, I'm absolutely amazed at the number of well educated, liberal minded people I know, who have admitted they may be tempted to vote for the BNP. They all have steady, well paid jobs, and friends from a variety of ethnic backgrounds, and if you knew them, you'd assume they were slightly left wing, if anything. (If you just want to post abuse, assuming that I'M racist, please don't waste your time. Serious answers only)

Hey, doesn't anyone think that illegals come to America cause they want to be Americans. Don't you think illegals do respect Americans but they just don't know the immigration laws since many of them do not know English? Since they haven't done a terrorist attack within the states, is it true that illegals want and do respect the American country? Do you think that they probably do not understand the American economy? Do you think that they left there country since many countries are communist and they don't have true freedom?

Do you think that other countries are getting all our jobs, our companies and so on instead of the illegal immigrants stealing our jobs and our taxes? Do you think America might dis-integrate into the air because of this? Do you think that America is making us stay on the subject that illegal immigrants are stealing our jobs so that we won't think so much about China and other countries getting all the jobs and companies that belong to the America people?

I just read a story on the Net. about a town who tried to do somethingabout stoping the illegals in their town but a Federal Judge stoped them. They wanted to fine landlords who rented to illegals but the judge said NO.They wanted to withhold business permits from businesses that hired illegals but again the judge said NO.The only thing I agree with is the part of the law said every one had to get a renters permit to rent & the judge ruled ( right this time ) NO. The judge said it created " irreparable harm " to Hispanics who had Children in school. What about all the people who are hard working, honest(people who came here legal) citizens who are paying for this,Dont they have a say if they dont want illegals living in their town Dont they have rights too?
