The only problem I have with deporting the people who are already here is how do we know who is already trying to get citizenship in this country? I mean, you can't quite go through the process of being an American, unless you've lived here for a number of years right? So, how can some of these illegal immigrants do that if they get deported? Say you're a Mexican and have been here for 4 years, the law says to be a citizen, you have to be here 5, and they deport you. That's not fair to that Mexican who came over here looking for the American dream. I say that you get all those Mexicans, have them fill out paperwork, make them take the class and have them all take a citizenship test. The ones who fail, get deported, the ones who pass, become US citizens.

yes or at the very least they need to register

incarceration and deportation is not happening to illegal men, women and children unless they are involved in illegal activities such as prostitution, drugs, illegal arms selling, human trafficking etc. in fact in most states even if the police pulls over a driver who has no legal drivers license and is an illegal they will not prosecute them as such. in georgia the immigration office will actually send out paper work for gaining citizenship for the illegals to sign and return with the fee, then they will send the next batch out , the illegal again signs, returns it with the fee and doctors report, and then the next set goes out until they get their temporary visa and eventually their citizenship. this rumor that there is going to be some mass incarceration/deportation is false and was started by and fueled by both sides of the immigration issue. on one to scare the illegals out of the country and on the other to scare illegals into protesting and fighting the country that is taking care of them.

Deport them. The leader of the country they came from needs to grow a back bone and keep their people there. The other day I read an article from a country (I can't remember which one) that forbids illegal immigration. If they can do this why can't all the rest?

Of course. Only idiots wouldn't. But there are more than 12 million, and I favor only deportation (preferably into foreign prisons, though).

Skip the incarceration, get right to the deportation.

It makes me angry that I am going through the legal process of immigration and it has been tough. I am waiting to return to my husband. We have done everything legally and proper and it is a new setback everyday. The more I go through with this, the more I hate the fact so many Illegal Immigrants are there. With all the Immigration issues there, it is getting harder and harder for the people who are doing it the right way.

I think you mean between 20-30 million. My answer is yes, America cannot afford them. We will not have to deport them if buisness' stop employing them, landlords stop renting to them, and they cannot receive government benefits. They will leave by themselves if this is accomplished.

Cliffy, I'd be willing to pay to see them leave. It is worth it. Most American citizens would strive through the process(even if it means hard times) knowing that they and their future relatives will live in a higher quality environment.
