If I stole something as menial and insipid as a candy bar I could be arrested. Why? Because it is a crime; a misdemeanor. So, if millions of foreigners invade our country illegally at great cost to our country and culture they should be considered criminals and enemies of the state. Large scale immigration (both illegal and legal) while 'supposedly' good in its intentions begins to erode the identity of the host nation.

There is no good nor logical reason to import poverty, not to say that some who migrate aren't highly educated. We are not obligated to take care of the world, especially within our own borders. This is not the 19th and 20th centuries needed the Irish and Italians (I know I'm leaving a few groups out) to help build the infrastructure of this country. This current boom in immigration is dangerous and unnecessary. I don't care where they come from, if people want to live out there dreams they should try to change their country so that they may do so.

Most people know that we are not allowed to ask the loaded questions that we want to ask. I have also noticed that it is people who come from other topics and ask a question once in a while that can by pass the censor. Can it be that after a certain number of answers and questions that the questions posed become flagged and must be approved?

I was let go from my last job alittle over a month ago, since then I've been on unemployment and thats not even enough to cover normal bills, rents, and food. I am a single 19 year old with a $300 rent and a car that is paid for. With my unemployment I make $828 a month and to be honest, in the 5 weeks I have not been working to date, I've only received one check for 207 (one week) and I NEED the money and help...will I be able to qualify? I am appaled that our idiotic government-both democrats and republicans alike our allowing our borders to remain at risk for illegals to enter our country and remain here to work for the rich corporations for dirt cheap wages and no benefits because supposedly no american wants these certain jobs. Well damn, corporations should provide benefits, health coverage, and a good pay for it's employees and I am not talking about $7.00 an hour. I am 59 and she is 57. I am retired and have a modest income and own my home. My girlfriend has agreed that we are going to get married but I have not asked and received an official answer so technically we are girl/boy friend. However, she is coming over at the end of February and we are going to get married the first week of March. We then must go back to UK for about two months and then return here to reside permanently. What are the best steps to take to make this as simple as possible?

We didn't expect that of any other immigrants. Take a walk in NYC. Visit Chinatown. Does it look "American" to you? Go see Little Italy. How "American" is that? Walk through the Jewish community or the Irish section. You will hear Chinese spoken, Italian, Hebrew. You will see their homes & shops decorated & adorned as they were in their homelands. Why then do we expect the Hispanics to completely abandon their language, their heritage and their culture and in a sense, deny their homeland, to come live here?

I don't get it. How does it affect you as an English-speaking person to see a sign in Spanish or read a pamphlet that has one side printed in Spanish or listen to a phone message that takes and entire extra 5 seconds to tell the Spanish-speakers to press a different button? Why does that bother people? How is it that the Canadians have been able to live in peace for hundreds of years with their French-speaking population and we resent the Spanish-speakers so much? Are they that more advanced than us? Why does it bother you so?
