Iranians love their country like anyone else. They are tired of war. In the 1980's they lost hundreds of thousands in the war with Iraq. Ahmadinejad is an Islamic fundamentalist who is quickly losing popular support of the people for his antagonizing the west and ignoring economic problems due to boycotts against Iran. The recent elections showed an overall dissatisfaction with his lack of leadership and his willingness to press forward with his nuclear power programs. In Tehran, where he was once mayor, he only received 20% of the vote. The Iranian people are basically peaceful. Even the mullahs are considering removing Ahmadinejad from power. Don't be surprised if it happens sooner than later. Once that happens, the tension will reduce itself considerably. Iran evidently still has enough talent to produce nuclear power--but they are receiving help from Russia and most likely North Korea to do so.
