Immigration - September 2006

I am American and my partner is English. My boyfriend and I have been together for three years, living together for one. We currently live in London where I am staying and working on a 4 year work permit. My boyfriend works in IT and has a master's degree. We understand that the US does not allow defacto immigration. Is marriage the only way for my boyfriend to get a visa to live in the USA with me? Also, if we did get married in the UK, how long would we need to wait before moving to the US and would my boyfriend have free right to work when we arrived?

I mean why the hell are there people who support something that is literally and figuratively ILLEGAL? My gosh whatever happened to respect for the law?

Beginning with the premise that current immigration law is unjust because it denies most people the opportunity to come here legally,

How can people who want to move here change the system from outside, when our consulates will deny them entry without even LOOKING at their papers, much less hearing their opinions!

If religion is banned in the U.S. or in any country, should people denounce their God?
If free speech is banned in the U.S. or in any country, should people shut up?
If guns are banned in the U.S. or in any country, should people hand them over?

If entry into a "free" country is banned to all but a priveleged and generally wealthy few (remember, even terrorists, ESPECIALLY internationally funded terrorists, have money!) , then should illegal immigrants be treated in the same regard as other criminals such as murderers and burglars? I think we should admire their American Spirit in well-chosen civil disobedience!

(Relevant tangent: If you are going to cite illegal welfare collectors, then why not start by requiring proof of citizenship at the welfare counter? There are a host of ways to solve STATESIDE the problems that some illegals cause. [btw I personally don't think even LEGAL non-citizen residents should get welfare unless they are seriously physically impaired!])

Why does "ALL" white america think that immigrants come from mexico? You look at the media these days & its like mexico this and we should put a wall that blocks all mex because terrorist might come?? How stupid can we get, we got minute men on the borders of mex when we have terrorist laughing at us because well we all know they come in through Canada?? Why dont they dont farm the land in their own country (MEXICO) and get a bumber crop. Mexicans are farming dope and getting bumper crops out of the Marijuana farms so why not with the vegetable and fruits. ........

I know , I know.........some like Angela will say that they dont farm in the USA but just pick the crop.........but why dont they farm the land in Mexico.

don't they want to build one in Canada also? Terrorists came freely in airplanes, received passports, went to flight schools and so on. Nothing to do with Illegal immigrants. They don't come in airplanes, they don't have passports, they don't attend colleges. So why they try to make a connection?

I wouldn't be surprised if the terrorists even received financial aid jaja.

My point is that Mexican border has little to do with terrorism. The same as the Canadian border.

So why do congresspeople make this connection?

They say they invade Iraq to promote American freedom, liberty, prosperity and so on. In other words, they supposedly supported the war on humanitarian reasons... yet, they want to kick out immigrants that come south of the border. Didn't they want to promote prosperity on other people? They build walls in the border, didn't they wanted to share and promote liberty?

So I guess they just went to Iraq for the oil, and for their companies to get richer selling all the war material to the army.

How about if the USA govt printed phamplets (just like the the ones that the Mexcian govt made to help its citizens get into the USA) for the Mexicans to help them get into canada....(please do note that some Mexicans already have moved all the way to canada but the number is quite small at present).......
Do you think the Mexicans will keep moning all the way into canada.

The main reason why Mexico is aginst the wall is, that if the world goes into a second ice age, then that wall you put up, will keep you from entering into Mexico faster.
