God, why would you possibly want to go to alaska??
It's cold, half the time it's ALWAYS light outside, and the rest of the time it's ALWAYS dark. There is nothing to do anywhere, unless you're a tree hugger, in which case you'd love it. But in all honesty, 1) No, a 16 year old could not support him/herself there, and 2) at 16, how do you propose to get into the country and be allowed to stay, by legal means that is.
You're not even an adult. Do you honestly think they will just let you move to america on your own?

I grew up in Alaska and to even get a job you have to have parental permission if you are 16 years old and under. The cost of living is very high and winter is coming and it gets very cold. It isn't unusual for the temperature in the Anchorage area to drop below -20 degrees farenheight in the dead of winter and stay that way for a couple of months, not only that the daylight hours are very short. From December through March you only have 5-6 hours of daylight. Don't get me wrong I loved growing up there but if you have never been there you may want to think of a better place to move to., especially during this time of year.

If your tough you will live, if not you will die. My granddad always said " Its a rough old life as long as you dont weaken and die boy." I have been on my own since I was 14. It wasnt always easy or fun, but I never regret a thing. I will never have to say "Woulda, Shoulda, Coulda" about anything. Stay warm, & have fun.

Join the military. I did when I was 16 and it was the best choice I ever made.

Honey you are still very young, try to get a good education before you attempt to support yourself, enjoy your childhood and don't rush into anything.

Your best bet is to start as an exchange student, and explore your options in person. Good luck
