Well a lot of Mexico is really arid so farming is hard to do.
Plus the government and economy aren't exactly condusive to great economic development... there's a lot of corruption.
And the other problem is that illegals in the states are not farmers... they're manual laborers. It's not the same as sewing and irrigating the crops.

I think the government won't let the people earn eough money to buy land. They are not very good to their people in Mexico and that is why they keep coming over the boarders to America.

Cause mostly rich people own land and are not selling it to people who want to buy a few acres to grow food for their families. If you don't own land you have to go to the big cities to find work. And if you don't find work in Mexico you come to the United States where there is work.

Because Mexico is so vastly overpopulated...Mexico City is one of the biggest populations in the world...yet their economy sucks because their government is so corrupt...and most of their citizens have like 8 kids....If you dont believe me...just go anywhere in Texas and look at the average size of Mexican families...It is not meant to be racist but factual that our Southern borders are already in trouble from a resources point of view...and if someone doesnt stop the massive flow of Mexicans (I am all for controlled legal immigration by the way) soon we will be crushed in overpopulation as well

When you don't own the land, you need to work where they pay the most. That means the US, not Mexico; even for drug crops.

I think you are on the right track. As more and more money is being funneled into Mexico it should be possible to start improving the standard of living there.

One reason that there are difficulties for Mexican farmers is that the USA takes most of the water that runs through the rivers that flow south, you build dams and irrigation systems and dump pollution in them. What flows through to Mexico is a polluted trickle of dirty water.
Go figure why the poor farmers can't grow bumper crops.
